Coming in late on this thread but I just wanted to say I love what you've done here. I used to own a Jet Black E92 and these pics are making me miss it a little now that I have converted to a Space Grey. Is it a compete repaint as part of the repairs that were done?
Your car demonstrates that it's the COMBINATION of the mods that give it the "look." I actually like the white lettering on the tires. It's different and I think, again, combined with all the other mods, it works. On it's own, I don't think it would stand, but you can pull it off with the combination of the other exterior mods. BTW, if you're a detail snob, you might check out Zaino products. They worked wonders on multiple gloss black finish cars I've had. Great job! |

Nope. I thought he should have painted the whole car but he painted the passenger rear quarter and door shell, blended into the front fender. He also resprayed the front & rear bumper.
There is not a single ding or dent on the car, however the hood has pretty of pits and there are some surface scratches here and there... Quote:
But thanks for the compliment. Glad to have you on board.

Hallalujah!
It's easier to find Bigfoot than it is to find a set of //////Monochrome side badges in good shape, let alone BRAND NEW!...But with enough hard work anything is possible...
This time they are getting superglued. I'll be damned if I ever lose these again... Special thanks to nyc4runnin for hooking me up with these:

Your car looks great but very monochromatic. Which is cool my cars are this way too...but there is something to set them off like BBK calipers. Red StopTechs or Brembos would looks awesome since the rear tail lights are also red. They would make your car "pop".

Thank you. I try to be modest but It really does put a smile on my face every morning when I walk out of the door. (I am still in the romance phase haha)
Very little so far actually...(Relatively speaking)...Some parts I've bought used, or on sale, some mods are temporary until I can buy the OEM or More expensive permanent parts. I also have a close friend that is a co-owner of a performance website that does huge internet volume, so I got whole sale on some things such as the wheels... As discussed earlier in the thread the right COMBINATION of mods can change the entire look of the car. Although I do plan on spending a small fortune on the car in the next year, It will be spent wisely and being a mechanic for years will hopefully save me a lot of "sweat equity" by doing some laborious jobs myself.

Although I agree adding an accent color would make it pop, I am really focused on doing something very different. I will be adding a subtle accent but It will be less "in your face" than calipers and more in the fine details. Red would look good, but is way too "safe"...I find it's the idea's that everyone thinks are the dumbest, that end up getting the most compliments and attention. Also, I only had one car equipped with Brembo Brakes in the past and my experience with them was horrible. Albeit, I was rough on them at times, It felt I was constantly replacing pads, and rotors. And after a few rounds of hard braking the rotors brakes would feel mushy and the rotors would warp surprisingly fast. Are stop-techs any better? Or has Brembo made any substantial changes since the 4 piston calipers that came factory on the Evoloution 8? But thanks for checking out the thread. Pull up a seat...I have a few big additions coming in the next 2-3 months...

Silver car?
The silver car is a buddies M3 convertible. What in particular are you referring to?

A good friend just picked up a 2011 ZCP M3...
Blue (Can't remember which one, I think he said Interlagos Blue, but someone please confirm...) ...He Got 6spd MT, with extended black leather, premium sound and sunroof. Bought with about 30k miles, he paid about $46K pre tax ($12K less than mine with 10k miles more but ZCP, mine is not...
Really brought to my attention, I should have waited 2 more weeks ro grab my car, but I am known to be very impulsive. I thought the e9x's $ dropped already because of the new body style being released..Turns out the old e9x's body styles dropped the second the F styles hit US shores...Whoops... Any way, A good friend buying an almost identical car has tough me some valuable lessons... 1.) Michelin PSS Tires are MUCH better than The Hankook Ventus V-12 off the line. Despite me being a more experienced driver, knowing the car better, and running 275's rear (as opposed to his 265's rears), he was able to really cream me off the line over and over.... 2) The sunroof vs. Carbon fiber roof, plus the axle-back give some good mid-range power, as soon as I hook up I catch right up (about 3-4 cars), and as we speed up, I think the scoops add some high speed power gains as I pull harder and harder... Any way, his car looks beautiful and since we are rolling with Black & Blue...Yes it's corny but we are calling ourselves Bruise Crew...: Without further ado..

They provide similar feel as the stock brakes in everyday driving but provide a huge advantage at faster tracks on hot days where the cooling capacity of the stock brakes is limited. Changing the pads is simple and a reason why many people that track will avoid Brembo. If your stock Brembos on your evo were anything like the ones on my STI, then they were pure junk....but the ones designed for the M3 are surely much better.

Yea my best bud had an STi, and aside from the color, the brakes were exactly the same, 4 piston front calipers, 2 piston rear. 13" front rotors if I remember correctly. We both also installed Stainless brake lines... He was much easier on his car, and still encountered problems... But your car is dope man. I watched your youtube channel, and your performance mods are just about my endgame hopefully. Thanks for the input. And am 100% on a BBK, just not #1 on the mod list...

Exactly, I use iPhoto to edit almost all of my photo's, The pic of R8TED M's Silver e93 and my e92 had to be really edited because of My dark car and light car in a dark garage...To make them both visable I lengthened the exposure with the HDR featurek

Magical Combo...
This combo works magic.
Meguire's polishing compound really smooths the paint and softens it, fillig in small chips and scratches (even in the paint) and gives u an insane luster (along with the dreaded swirls, if you push JUSTTTTT a LITTLE too hard)...Combine this with a black "chip stick"... ...WOW... Scratch Dr. is supposedly non-abrasive that really removes the swirls FOR GOOD...(so far

Intake Installed.
Installing the AFE intake elbow & filter really brought to my attention how well the OEM intake box is designed. Cold air being pulled from the driver side bumper hole, the hood vent & the kidney grills.
That being said this intake definitely gives the car a tad better throttle response, and a nice extra growl between 7-8200rpm.

General Performance results...
Based on some LEGAL races with various cars, e92s (6MT & DCT) both stock and highly modded, Modded Vettes (Z06's & C-6), Vipers, A buddies heavily modded 1series, I came to the conclusion I definitely got one of the faster M3's out of the box...(I've seen OEM whp #'s from 320-380WHP)
I did 2 passes yesterday on "Pocket Dyno" an iPhone app that uses the highly sensitive mercury/motion sensor within the phone, and a clear GPS signal to track over a dozen performance figures... Due to a complete lack of traction (Crap Hankook Tires, and colder weather. with MDM OFF I had horrible 60' and even 1/4 Mile times, But the ET's were impressive and In-line with what I was expecting...10-15MPH over stock et's... Keep in mind, My current performance mods are AFE stage 2 intake w/ Prodry Filter, AVT scoops, and CNT axle-back exhaust. No tune, 4 OEM cats and 2 resonators, along with the cheapest sport tires you can buy, not even broken in yet! I was very content...( The slower run was t about 78*F Unknown Hum., 2nd was about 65*F pretty dry)

BEST 1/4 Mile time so far...12.6 sec...
Before I say anything, I know many of the members reading this are laughing at my reliance on an iPhone app for accurate performance results...
But I have done my homework and it seems with the app properly calibrated, mounted, and on a level, smooth, straight, CLEAR & EMPTY closed roadway or drag-strip, this "Pocket Dyno" app can give relatively accurate results due to it built in: incredibly sensitive and accurate accelerometer and the laws of physics, which happen to stay consistent no matter what (Even have buddies who have used the app while doing multiple runs at E-town, and 90% of the time the results were within .0XX's of a second & .5mph.) These consistent trap speeds and to a lesser extent 1/4 mile times have convinced me that with the proper rear tires, about $3,000 dollars in additional mods (See Below), and the appropriate weather, I will get consistent 11.XX second passes @ 120mph+ at Englishtown Raceway on Sunday Oct 26th w/ just the basic bolt-ons & the proper tune. From what I've seen on here and at the track, this seems to be on the faster side for N/A full interior 6 Speed MT e92's...Correct me if I'm wrong but 118+mph traps easily justify a low 12 time w/ a good 60' time. LMAO, Can't help but think that the car might be substantially faster than the average e92 w/ the same mods bc my rod bearings are about to disintegrate. As we all know, cars are fastest right before they BLOW. Just ask my H22a powered 250HP 1991 Honda Accord 4dr. Did 10+ passes at a local 1/4 mile drag strip that has since been shut-down. (West Hampton Raceway)...Only Problem was MOST of the oil apparently leaked out somewhere between my driveway and the track. But it felt extremely fast that day and pulled mid 14's despite having VTEC on a switch and a 6800rpm Redline (Don't ask)... Anyway as usual I have gone on a ridiculous tangent...There is a point to this post believe it or not... Mods getting installed in the next 3 weeks: 1. Gintani CATLESS, but QUAD resonated X-pipe 2. Tune (Most likely reflash, but contemplating doing a full custom dyno tune) 3. Short Shifter Kit + Selector Rod 4. Most importantly, 265 M/T Slicks or semi-slicks in the rear w/ OEM or MAYBE Volk 18"s all around... But now, I need some help deciding on a tune...I really want to go with the ESS flash, as I heard it yields the most noticeable power increases, and most aggressive a/f, ignition and VANOS parameters... BUTTTT, as we all know HP & TQ are meaningless without the ability to put the power to the pavement. From what it seems, ESS does not offer a launch control feature for 6MT? BPM Does. I feel a launch control is important for making every run count. I don't want to risk beating on my car for a crap time or driving conservatively down the track just to wait on line for another hour before I get to run again and HOPE i hit the launch right... So can members please give me input given my circumstances on pro's and con's of different tunes. I would really love to hear the opinions of some of you that have run different tunes on the same basic setups??? ESS vs. BPM Tune? Or Another Suggestion? And Why? Pros/Cons? Keep in mind the 12.65 I pulled today, I had 180lbs passenger, and 80*F HEAT helping my launch, but killing my power. \/ \/ \/
