F you too then, buddy.

I still need to go down to the dealers lot and check out the 1 series. I originally had wanted to but after it debuted I simply lost almost all of my interest. It certainly isn't what many were hoping for it to be. Instead of a lightweight rally car we got a smaller, cheaper (as in materials but not really price) 3 series.

335i MT weight = 3571
135i MT weight = 3373, both per BMW NA website specs
Difference = 198#

'I don't like the One Series looks' = factual statement
'The One Series is ugly' = someone's idea of speaking for everyone else

Does anyone know how much Botox was used in the 3 Series design? That front end has had one too many injections, to my way of thinking...

Most of the M3s at dealerships in Germany are customer ordered, there's usually 1 sitting on the showroom floor for sale and 1 demo for potential buyers to test drive. The M3 is so rare in Germany, I have to drive to Kaiserslautern to purchase oil for the car. I'm in Illesheim, Google it. So, you dumb fat ignorant Americans enjoy it while you can. You think BMWs are overpriced? Go find out how much the rest of the world is paying.

You really haven't been to many places in the US have you? That is just about the stupidest 'blanket statement' I have seen. The only one I half agree with is the fat part.

BMW.com lists the unladen weight for the 135i MT as 1,560kg or 3,439lbs and the 335i MT as 1,600kg or 3,527lbs. Difference = 88lbs. The figure quoted is based on a 90% full tank, 68 kg (150lbs) for the driver and 7 kg (15lbs) for luggage. I don't know how BMW NA is coming up with their weight numbers, perhaps they are trying to make the 135i more appealing.

I've been to a few places, don't know what that has anything to do with my assessment of the average American today.

That figure has been beaten to death by those whose sole intent is to show 135i is not much lighter. That may be true on EU models but people on 1addicts have weighted their cars and its much closer to the 33xx figure.

If you count a driver and 90% of a tank then those numbers aren't that far off for the 1s but are fairly optimistic for the 3's

The two reported times someone's weighed an e82 they recorded 3360 lbs for the 135i and 3280 lbs for the 128. Both with a full tank of gas but no driver. Subtracting 10 lbs for the extra 10% gas then adding 150 lbs for the driver brings you just below those figures. About 3500 lbs for the 135i and 3420 for the 128i.

If you count the same driver weight & 90% gas then the threads on here are saying ~3640 for the e92 335i and 3740 - 3794 for the e90 335i.

140 to 240 lbs for a 135i vs 335i isn't as much as it should be but some people on here have done some ridiculous things to their 335i's to drop that much weight.

(I can't believe I cared enough to look that up )

This reminds me of people who compare dynos. The only way (if we don't believe in the published numbers) we'll know the true weight difference between the two is to weigh them back to back on the same scale. But if my test drive told me anything, it is that the acceleration between the two are just about the same.

That is the point. I am based in the states and I do believe the published numbers, which is what's stated on bmwusa.com, but people cherry pick their numbers to make their argument. If bmwusa is non-trustworthy then I'd hesitate to accept bmw.com's either.

Actully, there was a Euro member on 1addicts who weighed his 135i, and it came in at just over 3200 with 1/4th tank of gas. Though his car lacked a sunroof, so that'd make a difference.

If the shoe fits, wear it.

In other news, took the M3 to the Nurburgring (16,17,18AUG) and the car performed to my expectations. Time to order some Brembos as the brakes were done by the 2nd lap.

Stopped by Baumholder (old duty station) on the way up to the Ring.

hahahah yea ok Back to the OP, if i had the money to afford 335i i would definitely take it over 135i and here are my reasons!!!

1. better exterior, interior, power feels better while enjoying the car itself
2. no significant difference in drag race times
3. 1 series is not as recognizable as 3 series
4. 3 series seems more roomy and cozy than the 1

Whats stuck up about his comments? Most Americans are fat. The numbers don't lie.

Pics? 3/4 of the women I've seen here look like the whale on the right.

LOL Do it! It won't be just for the car, the Nurburgring/ Hockenheimring is here too. I've had days where I wished I kept the 335i but it didn't make sense for me to have 3 cars.

Here she is, with her new owner in Czech.
