Regret Matte Black??

Who else regrets buying matte black grilles? I'm definitely switching to gloss black but wish I just bought gloss to begin with to save some money...

spray pay them with a gloss clear coat a few times. it may make it shiny enough.

Nothing happened, I just want the gloss ones. My car is jet black and I just think the gloss one will look nicer, but its all personal preference! Its up to you!

I love my matte black grills. The gloss ones look so cheap in person. You wonder why the iS guys are always swapping theirs out for the matte ones: It makes the front look huge.

I love my BMW perf grills. Yeah they are expensive but I got these as a gift basically. I used to have matte black grills but I prefer these much more.

I painted my stocks matte, didn't love it. Resprayed them with a semi-flat and love it.

I originally painted my chrome grills, matte black on my tiag, thought they were kinda boring and chipped like crazy without a clear coat. After wrapping my roof gloss black I used the left over vinyl to wrap the top mustache parts of the grilled. I liked the look alot better so I repainted the bottom half gloss black.

IMO gloss grills on the pre lci e90s look much better because of the larger surface area on top. On the other models I don't think it makes a huge difference.

The whole journey only cost me 20 bucks probably so no regrets

YES!!! haha matte black gives an agressive look but looks really cheap to a lot of people. gloss/painted is the way to go, it gives a classy clean look to it that you won't regret. Also for those who have black cars gloss works extremely well at night! :]]

I replaced just the inner grille section with matte black and left the chrome outer ring on my E92. Looks good to me and in consistent with the silver window trim on the rest of the car. Mine is Jet Black so the contrast is very nice.

Actually. It seems I have the dissenting opinion

Your gloss pick seems to be the favorite among the replies

Who knows, I may flip back to gloss

But I did like your comment about the matte looking more aggressive

I saw your garage pictures and your car looks really good with the gloss grilles! Looks much more cleaner and eye-catching in my opinion, but its up to you!
