my new ipod touch 3g (comes with 3.x already installed) does not work properly either. I have ipod adapter (no usb). I can play music (listed by songs) but I'm not able to search by artists/albums/etc anymore. The ipod doesnt charge either.
It worked perfectly with my touch 1g (havent installed 3.0 yet).
