Nope Remember, it's a known car.

And this thread isn't in the proper forum.

The engine sounds very smooth. For me it sounds like a turbocharged I6. M135i? 1 Series M CSL E82?

If the picture relates to the actual car then I would guess M335i/M340i otherwise M135i as this is more of a known car.

Sound isn't quite like my 1M but does sound I6, perhaps two exaust pipes and not 4?

On the topic of the M340i, what is it expected to have? 3.0 tri-turbo diesel with 380bhp? That would be amazing. I think 335d is plenty fast, M340 would be epic.

The M340i (or M335i as it may well be called instead) would have the uprated N55 @ ~320hp. This is the same engine found in the 640i, and presumably (also to be revealed very, very soon) in the 740i LCI.

A 3 series with the N57S would end with a "d". There's always a chance for such a car to show up at some point as well, though I imagine not with the "50d" designation and probably not with 380hp either.

I think this new M-performance category is very confusing. I thought it was going to be a watered down M line-up with AWD + 3.0 tri-turbo diesel engine. Hence why I was asking about M340d. Now we have the M135i coming with the N55 putting out 320bhp and it turns out that the M340 is actually going to have the N55 (320bhp). Very confusing category of cars with a mix of petrols/diesels/RWD/AWD.

On another note, whats the point of the M335i/M340i? 320bhp is not enough unless it is underrated. How will it differ from the current 335?

It's not just a slightly beefed up engine, but also driving characteristics, steering, suspension, brakes etc should be in between 'regular' cars like 335i or 135i, and their full-blown M cousins.

Can you please explain "wrong forum"?

The Car in the vid/pic isnīt an hatch ... so an M135i seems impossible. The pic shows clearly an sedan or an coupe ... but an sedan is more likely.

My guess:
1. F80M3 - fullfil all criteria = "known"model, would come new, sedan
2. M340i(M335i) - fullfil not all criteria = would come in the near future, sedan ... but no Known model because of being from an complete new m branch
3. M6 GC - also fullfil all criteria = M6 is an known model, would come new, sedan look a like ... but vid sounds not like an V8

I have never heard of any new M car that wasnīt seen some time before its debut in Spypics/-vids ... and only the F80M3 and the M6GC fullfil this criteria.

Actually come to think of it, I haven't seen anyone mention M650i/xi or M650d/xd

Timing could be right? Having already released the M sport and M6 just like with M550
