If you buy the OEM one, you should install it yourself. It is not hard at all.

I bought mine on eBay.
I paid $240 including the shipping.
The install is 30 minutes.
You do need to pull the drivers rear wheel and pull the liner down.
The rest of the job is easy.

I just did it.

The eBay seller is
http://www.ebay.com/sch/kgildenmeist...id=p4340.l2562

He lists them all the time so don't go nuts and bid.

After I installed mine, I didn't code my car for it until about 6 months later. The only things that didn't work were the hood contact switch (the alarm wouldn't activate if the hood was opened) and the panic alarm (holding the trunk unlock button down for 5s had no effect). Everything else worked (doors, trunk, chirp @ lock & unlock). The interior motion/tilt sensor and flashing LED on the mirror also worked. If you decide to code it and have the cable for the OBD port, its actually really easy. The official instructions say to use Progman, but you can actually do it with NCSExpert in about 30 seconds.

your car is already pre-wired.
just install the parts, no need to have big brains

the dealer will charge you 1.5 hrs maybe another .5 for coding

I don't know how to code or what equipment that involves, I was thinking it might be better to go to the dealer on that one unless the price diff is worth it
