Man that sucks. I've had great responses directly from BMWNA myself.

Curious, why would they claim abuse? Is your car modded?

sorry to hear it!

i would keep calling back and keep pestering

but like the previous poster mentioned, is your car modded?

if so, they have every right to deny you shit but they still shouldnt charge you for something they said would be covered in warranty

SMG quirks like this scare me. The more I use S6 mode, the more guilty I feel afterwards. I don't want a limp mode all the way to a dealer. SMG has been treating me well, and I hope if something like this happens, it's covered. Good luck! I really want that DCT from the M5 CSL special edition.

Sorry to hear that.

Still, posts like this tend to mean more when they don't have phrases like "ScumW Manhattan".

I glazed through your other post, but how did they scam you other than refusing to cover the clutch?

If you didnt sign a work order with a clear estimate, you have every right to sue them for this.

wow.. that really sucks
what i don't understand is that don't BMW dealers bill the corporate for all warranty work they do? so in the end they get paid, so why not bill the corporate?
that's pretty crazy..

i'd def stay away from BMW of Manhattan. When i went to buy my first BMW they tried to bump MSRP up 4K....

They told a friend of mine recently that she couldn't get her BMW serviced anywhere but BMW of Manhattan because the warranty wouldn't be good. All she wanted done was routine maintenance - they also wouldn't cover her toll charge to cross from NJ to NY after telling her that....

I've also had major issues w/ BMWNA Reps telling me all kinds of different things when I call. I recently purchased a X5 and I needed info on getting out of my 1 series lease 2 months early.... 4 BMWNA reps and 4 different answers - the dealership even called up and got the same bad info.... its pretty sad how bad the Customer service is for a car company that prides itself on luxury and high standards.

Do I understand this correctly....the clutch had already been repaired 2,000 miles earlier? What was the story on that episode? Why did it need repaired earlier and who did repair, on what basis?

I don't think clutches get repaired, they get replaced.

I'm always hearing Stories of BMWNA being a Scam. Thankfully, we don't have that problem here in Trinidad, because when it comes to servicing cars, We are treated like royalty. (Maybe its because our company has a tight contract with them and give them a lot of business)

Just last month, my dad got them to change all 4 tires just because one tire was damaged and didn't pay extra. The old tires were on the car for less than two years!

I don't understand why you think the dealer wants to "scam" you by not doing warranty work. They want to fix your car. The dealer gets paid to do warranty work from BMW of NA. They by all means want to get your car in the shop and charge BMW for it. If anything blame BMWNA not the dealer directly. I wouldn't have had them close the car up. I would have been down there fighting them tooth and nail to get it fixed under warranty.

I have not pitty for you, your own fault. You should have called the police and had your car removed under supervision. Unless you signed a waiver of estimate in which case I REALLY have no pitty for you.
