What diameter are most/all BMW shift levers?

I'm trying to find out some info on the oem shift levers for most/all manual trans BMW shift levers.
I know they use press on knobs it seems but looking to see the diameter to see what can be made to fit.
Also if anyone knows if all BMW's use the same diameter shift lever?

I'd estimate it's about 10MM. But it's easy to figure out. Take some masking tape and put it around the shaft. Mark tape with a line. Remove the tape, measure the length between the bginning of the tape and the line. Divide that numer by Pi (3.141). Most Momo shift knobs will fit BMWs BTW. I've used the same Momo knob on my various BMWs since 1996, it must have over 300,000 miles on it by now, looks brand new. Get a Momo shift knob

Well I don't currently own a BMW which is why I was asking. I actually make shift knobs and have had a ton of requests rom M3 guys to make them fit BMW's so trying to find out the shifter size to be able to make them.

Then I assume you can read a set of calipers? Why not just go measure one?

If I had a BMW that would be quite simple. I don't think a dealership would be too fond of me pulling a shift knob off and measuring the diameter of the shift lever. Which is why I was asking on here.

Put up a free or half price shift knob offer on here if someone will let you measure their shift stick. It is a win/win, right? You get your measurement and your first customer, which will in turn spawn more customers money. Even at a small loss the gains would be worth it, no?

I certainly could do that. I am just in the proses of figuring out a way to make an adapter for them to work. So I couldn't guarantee a knob since I don't know if they will fit or not until I get the measurements. Certainly once I get measurements and make an adapter I would give out a free knob to someone willing to test fitment and take some pics.
