F32 435i, first gear shifts at 6500rpm
Hi Guys,
Just purchased an M sport 435i and noticed that first gear always shifts at 6500 rpm (whether in comfort, sport or sport + mode, and whether in auto or manual shift mode) and then 7000rpm for the rest of the gears. Anyone know why that is? Thanks. |

i have noticed that too and i got to one conclusion..
rev needle can't really move fast ..( i mean engine did hit 7k but the needle still at 6.5k due to first gear is soo short xD). and btw use 2nd gear don't really smash it in first gear,

Makes sense, though I had the Z4 35i before this and it didn't do that, the needle would go to 7000 rpm even in first gear, don't know if the difference would be that the Z4 was the N54 engine and this is the N55. Yeah you're right, shouldn't smash first gear but sometimes it's too hard to resist, besides with the speed limits here, can't smash 2nd gear too often as I'd already be over most speed limits when I'm redlining whereas first gear can do it all the time.
