Sensible tune for a 435i M Sport

My new BMW 435i M Sport is on custom order; it not here yet and I am already thinking about tuning it with the following:

1. Burger Motor Sports JB4 tune
2. Burger's Downpipe
3. Burger's Intake Air Filter (Soon to be available)
4. Burger's Wheel Spacers (12mm up front and 15mm back, for stock 19" rims)
(BTW It's proving a challenge to find stagered lock bolts for the wheels with the spacers...)
5. Burger's Chargepipe with or without methanol kit
6. I'd like to consider a front carbon fiber lip and rear diffuser and trunk spoiler but they proving a challenge to find. The mirror covers, metal pedals, and black grills are easier to find.

Is it too tacky to add all this? Should I expect warranty or reliability issues by tuning the car?

Also, I just learned that BMW is selling Extended Warranties for new cars. They are pricey: $4,500 for a souped up build like mine, but I am thinking it may be worth it considering all the complex electronics of the car and the less than stellar reliability record of BMW. What do you think?

These are all good additions to the car but my advice would be to enjoy the car "as-is" before making all these decisions. See what you like and want to enhance before you throw on all these modifications. It will give you a chance to know if it is your mods that may be causing issues or some issues that may have come on the car.

Break-in period

You are right of course. Anyway, I was planning on breaking in the car for at least 2,000 miles before messing with it (other than the grills and pedals maybe)

Having had the 435i for several months now, I have been extremely happy with the stock configuration. That said, I itched for more and went with the MPPK and MPE to preserve the warranty. These two fairly conservative mods were about all I could consider as I'm really a fan of using BMW accessories, not 3rd party items. The gain of power with MPPK was extremely noticeable and made the car that much more fun. The sound of the MPE, nice and tidy too.

YMMV, but I try whenever possible to adopt "less is more" as a philosophy

Thank you for your response. Originally I was considering the BMW PPK but it has been difficult to find locally and enthusiasts were telling me it was too conservative. What you say makes a lot of sense though; one shouldn't endanger the warranty of an expensive -and well made car- just to up the ante particularly if you are not into racing. I very well may follow your advise!

There's nothing conservative about the stock performance of your car. Adding the MPPK will only make it better. I'd say the sensible tune is to stick with a BMW product.

Do you guys have any 0-60mph or 5--75mph data on the M Sport 435i with the MPPK?

I was happy with my car stock until I installed The JB4, stage 2 but no electronic wastegate controller yet, So only map 1 so far. I can't drive stock anymore! I'm installing flex fuel wires tonight! Get the JB4 first!

Have you noticed if the JB4 puts too much strain on the engine? Do you anticipate additional wear and tear because of it?

It's going to vary depending on driver, conditions, etc. On a RWD vehicle you're looking at 4.4 - 4.8 0-60 on a 435i w/ MPPK.

That performance would be very nice indeed, I assume it would be faster with the auto tranny I ordered.

Those numbers I posted were based on auto.

These engines and the transmission can handle a lot more than a jb4 stage 2 put down, including a jb4 mp7 with a FBO. All I can tell you is the change is quite significant. I will never be happy with a stock 335 again.

If your really concerned I would leave it completely stock or get a MPPK. I've driven a 335 with m performance exhaust and the PPK. I can tell you even map 1 on the JB4 blows it out of the water. with all the other mods your thinking about the JB4 is far and away the most bang for your buck.
So if your going to skip the jb4 or the PPK the other mods aren't worth it IMO.

The JB4 sounds great... I haven't read any horror stories about it and it costs half what the MPPK does. It's beginning to sound more attractive... Now, if the MPPK delivers 0-60mph in the 4.4-4.8 with auto tranny, what can I expect acceleration wise from the JB4?

I think the guys with the FBO and pneumatic solenoids are running 3.7-3.8
0-60 and 11.8 11.9 1/4 mile on map 7. I know there is a video of an 11.9 run not sure what map he was on.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Whats an FBO and Pneumatic Solenoids, sorry new to the whole tuning concept, use to keep all of my cars stock, but this N55 has to be beefed up a bit.

I don't think that anyone is running in the high 3s and 11s with a "sensible tune" - which is what the OP asked about.
