Work needed to put lowering springs on a 318i

I bought a set of FK automotive 40mm lowering springs.

When i went to get them fitted at a local garage the guys told me id have to go to bmw to get the job done because of the run flats.

They said bmw would have to reset up the whole suspension system and change out parts.

Does this sound right or is it a more straight forward job than they are saying?

To put it bluntly, it's bullshit

It will ride like a bag of nails with -40mm and RFTs, but mechanically there's absolutely no reason they can't fit springs.

Yes, you will need the alignment checking once it's lowered, but that's the same regardless of the car or springs.

My suggestion? Find somewhere that wants the work

Yeah i hear itll be pretty rough alright im gonna look into changing to sport shocks and maybe changing out the run flats.

Thanks for the reply im gonna try another garage see if theyre interested
