2009 E93 random Engine Fault

Hey guys,

I'm having some issues with my baby and it's not even reached 50,000km yet. The car has been having some issues on cold start (after overnight, or couple of days not using it since it does not get that cold in the UAE).

So I booked a servicing appointment but in the meantime, one random afternoon I took the car and as I was driving out of a parking lot quite slowly this message appeared out of nowhere. I proceeded to switch off the car and restart it, and the error message disappeared, and the car ran completely fine.

Do you have any idea what the issue might be?
I am thinking it might be something to do with the air filter, as it is EXTREMELY dusty over here...

Mine did the same thing, but the faults would go away after the car was restarted. Take it to the dealer, I believe that they will reset your ECU.

I remember being worried at first, but there are a few threads about this fault arleady.

Similar situation on my '09 E93

I have regular E93 - same year - experiencing a similar issue. I have no problems until higher revs and then start getting misfire codes.

I haven't gone to the dealer - i'm out of warranty at 48k miles for my 09 and here in Dallas, TX, I haven't had a single positive experience working with my dealership on the service side.

Does anyone have a recommendation? Am I looking at an issue with one of my turbos?

Isn't BMW's 6-60 warranty universal? I have an '07 335i conv. And It's factory warranty was good through June 28th of '12. So I made sure to take advantage of it... I wasn't even aware of the warranty myself until I had 2 coil packs go out (misfiring) and I had purchased the 5star extended warranty when I got car in March, went to BMW and they told ME that the warranty was still in effect. What a pleasant surprise. Look into it, anyone else, correct me if I'm wrong... I know I don't have an M, but I still hope this is universal help.
