I think there are several questions to be asked.

Lifestyle, children, outdoor activities, all these weigh in to a car if you only have one.

Personally I would got with the 335d coupe. Sporty look, great mileage, nice engine that can lay down the power when needed. Definitely a sexy car and doesn't make you look like a ass.
