This is sick !!!!!!!! How many of you would do this to your beautiful car... By the looks of it, it seems that this car went through a dust storm or something...

This is a pretty common occurence in Dubai.

What most probably happened here is that an expat either lost his job and had to head home or was moving home permanently.

What quite a few expats do in such a situation is just park the car and leave it - especially if it is financed and they owe more on the car than its worth.

As long as they don't plan on coming back - they will be fine.

Alternatively, it could be that the owner has gone on a vacation for a couple of weeks. 2-3 sandstorms later, thats what any car would look like (I wash my car atleast 1-2 times a week minimum).

People laugh at me in my lil 335 over here.

The thing is a tax free (almost) lifestyle allows you to buy such cars.

Bimmers are no big deal here - I mean you do get the occasional look but its no big deal at all.

for example, my offices are located in a huge building and parking lot has a couple of gallardos, rolls royce coupes, 3 ferraris, 4-5 bentley GTs, multiple Porsches, X5s and Lexus (but only 4 e92s - 2 of which are 335s).

But seriously, there are a lot of mid to low end cars here. Its just that the proportionately there are a lot more nice cars than in other countries. So people get the impression that Dubai is full of the super rich. In actuality most people living here make less than $3000 a month.


On closer examination - that location is a housing community called the Jebel ali Gardens - and this is definitely an abandoned car by an expat returning home - or on a long vacation.

This is most probably not a rich guy's car since then the number plates tend to be of 4, 3, 2 or 1 digits. 5 digit number plate - normal. lesser than that and you are rich. in the 3 digits and 2 digits - the plate costs more than the car.
