BMW seats vs the general competition

Found something to bitch about.

Why is it that BMW refuses to use third party seats like Recaros? Not just that, but the designs, bolsters, etc just seem below par compared to the competition.

For example...

Audi A5

Mercedes E-Class Coupe

Goddamn Ford Focus RS

For comparison (and I couldn't find a better shot), the best seats BMW offers...

BMW M3

Oh, unless you're willing to shell out unnecessary amounts of $$$ for these:

BMW "Performance" Seats (shit should be standard)

I completely agree!

I found the M3 seats from my e36 to suck, which was no surprise given they were 10 yrs old. They got replaced real quick.

I understand your frustration, but BMW will not listen to us.

...and imagine a soccer mom taking her kids to school in her 328i with the Performance seats

yeah but they really should give the M line good seats. They arent bad, but they arent exciting at all.

Fair enough...in the M3, something closer to the Audi's would be better then the current Vadar's (made by Lear?).

In a track focused light weight M3 (CSL perhaps), the Performance seats/Recaros/Sparcos/Corbeaus should be offered...or as a factory kit option at minimum

back then when I had my audi it was the biggest complain ever..seemed like audi finally listen, and now offer sports seats across all their models in NA

But coming from my old seats, I have to say I enjoy the M seats a lot more...not that my old seats suck, but they were hell to get in and out of

still undecided if I wanna throw these in the M, it's just been in my basement for the longest time now.

The Recaro Pole Positions make a huge difference. The interior fells 100x sportier than stock. Here's Tom's car:

How often does he crush his nuts getting in and out? That was alwaysmy problem with racing seats on a low-slung car. Sometimes I would fall into the car and get an unpleasant surprise.

Maybe I was just doing it wrong. Anyway, it was worth it.

I agree completely. It would make a huge difference if BMW's had seats like the S5 or E class. Sucks.

I think Mercedes does a great job with their interiors. Everything flows perfectly and its so aggressive, but sexy and sleek at the same time. Perfect.

I find the sport seats in my 1 pretty good but when I look at the seats in the S5 and S4 it makes me cry.

The S60r seats are the best I have ever felt...period.

I owned one for 2 years with the dark blue/metallic leather (called Nordkap) and I miss that interior dearly. Loved that car.

Yeah what's up with that? Bring us sportiness!
They should have real frickin' perfomance seats for m-package and M cars with the option for deletion for those who's back hurt...

WOW those recaros from that M3...

In my personal opinion I think the S60r seats are alittle bit on the soft side.

And yeah bimmerloyolo the seats from the C63 are absolutley AMAZING! It's like your glued to the seat in corners!
