▀▄ eas | jc05e46m3's JB4 Stage 3 testing: 491whp/494ft-lb tq.
jc05e46m3 is no stranger to EAS and was among the first to receive one of the beta JB4 tunes to test with. Shortly after installation (and a few Mexico runs), he returned to the dyno to see what numbers are being putting down.
Runs are maps 0 (off), 1 (mild boost) and 7 (E20 map). Running Stage 3 configuration on E20 fuel, stock exhaust. Modifications Stock, charcoal liners removed from airbox E20 Fuel STD SAE Conditions

I still cringe looking at the dyno conditions, lol. Super excited about the upcoming dyno day at the end of the month!

MAP 1 adds about ~4lb boost, expect about a 40/40 increase on average on pump gas. A bit more octane (we're limited to 91 here in CA) would be helpful to keep power up top.

This is absolutely correct. You can see where mine drops off on the more aggressive Map 7. I have a fix for that.

Looks like the top end of Map 7 (E20) needs a bit more work as it appears to drop below Map 1 around 6K RPMs. Nonetheless, the mid range power increase for both maps is great. However, it likely makes the need for wider and stickier tires even more obvious.
Separately, does the charcoal delete really make a difference? Also, what is the purpose of the charcoal in the first place? |

The stickier tires is a great point. It is going to be a necessity for those who wish to up the boost and run better fuels. The day following the dyno, I added 2 more gallons of E85 and it was a completely different driving experience. I was doing a lot of logging and testing of different combinations, so we will see what's next. My personal plan is to have 305s out back here very soon. I don't know if the charcoal filters make a difference, but I will say that I read that only North America gets them (didn't verify). From a flow standpoint, they definitely impede the flow post airbox, so I removed them just for piece of mind.

BMC or K&N filters would be a nice bonus while in there.

Awesome numbers guys
Easily could've broken into the 500+ club with a few more runs and cooler conditions

ive personally never heard of anyone running mixed fuel tuning.. too many variables that wont be consistant.. even running full e85 in evo, people had ethanol reader installed to make sure the fuel was of good quality.. unless im missing something, sounds dangerous.

I'll be quick to admit that I have zero experience with piggyback tuning, but I do have quite a bit of experience with GT-R flash tuning on both pump gas & E85. I wasn't running a flex-fuel setup on mine and here in the northeast the seasonal mix varies dramatically (I've seen it range from E68--E86)...so I had to watch ethanol content very closely to keep everything safe. I'd be interested in knowing how these ECUs compensate with the guesti-mixing of E85 and pump gas. I'm not, blasting anyone, just interested in learning how tuning works on this platform.

It (and the DME) are smart enough to make adjustments based on other parameters but it has no way to actually read ethanol content. |

lol
This is true. I just revisted my emails with Terry and had mixed up the FF (for wastegates) with FF as in Flex fuel. Original post edited.
