Hopefully you're not going to let the deaer's body shop do the work since they couldn't get it right the first time. I doubt the 2nd time would be any better considering the way you've been treated.

Maybe find the best body shop in the area and have the dealership pay to have them fix it.

Yes, and also there is no way Im driving Austin - Houston - Austin to get it fixed. There are at least 2 highly recommended shops here that BMW of Austin recommends.

Similar thing happened to me when I ordered new a 2006 E90 330i. The rear door had been repainted in the port prior to it getting to the dealer. Car was silver and the paint match from the port was bad. I should not have accepted the car once we noticed the repair a couple weeks after purchase. It bothered me until the day i sold it. However, if it was the bumper, I would think a pro could match the paint and the repair could go unnoticed. Good luck.

I agree with THE TECH BMW along with a lot of other car manufactures have the vehicle repaired at the port before they even get to the dealership and also when they arrive at the dealership think of all the car s being driven near\around a new shipment of cars , one or two are bound to get hit in the parking lot! Perfect example a buddy of mine works at a BMW dealership and he P.D.I a new lime rock addition the second it came off the shipping truck and he found a fish eye and clear coat drip on the "A" pillar on the drivers side.

Yes... I'm ok with that and aware that accidents happen. Problem here is that the did a really bad job fixing it and are giving me the run around as to fix it. Sales rep admitted that the accident was done at their dealership, not at port.

Getting the quality you paid for in a new luxury car has become an accepted hit or miss. I think $80,000 is no longer luxury range. At that level many dealers will evade issues if they can get away with it unless you are persistent.
A lot of corruption has built into the value of money in this time of self entitlement. It's no longer backed by honest hard work and corresponding product value. That says a lot about the present financial ecosystem still growing sickness. Money has been defrauded for too long by banksters and wall street. When the printed bill alone is no longer a guarantee for a certain level of service or quality it means it's being abused in all kinds of spheres...

It's all relative. I've never thought BMW's service was the epitome of wonderful. But I recently went to a Mazda dealership with my girlfriend.

They have it set up like some sort of assembly line with no place to sit. 10 high tables on one side where you buy a car. 5 tables on the other side where you go for service. No place to sit. The place was packed with people milling around. Felt more like a prison then a place to spend money.

In comparison then, my local BMW dealership is an architectural masterpiece and delivers a 5 star experience.

If that was me, I would not accept anything less but a brand new car painted from factory. Good luck and I hope you are happy with the results.

Sorry to hear about your less than perfect experience. Port repairs are quite normal, but I believe this one is a poor attempt at repairing what ever damages your car had during port delivery. BWM Dealer should cover cost of proper repair and maybe some price reduction.
