What usb cables on ebay are correct for E90
Looking to pick up a OBDII to USB cable for INPA/.../DIS you know what it's used for. Found a few options on eBay. I have a copy of the software package already. So I don't need that. I just want the best cable for my E90(335XI) May 07 build date. I'm in Canada so I'd prefer a Canada/US source with free shipping to Canada. I appreciate any help people can give.

Trust me save yourself a headache and just buy the one from One Stop Electronics http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=480261
A few months ago I bought a cable from Amazon, it didn't work and I had to return it. I just bit the bullet and bought the recommended cable and it works fine. |

Guys, I need to add a code to my 2006 325i to show MPH in the middle LCD area. I have to import the car from Canada to the US, and the dealers are telling me approx. $2000 to replace the entire cluster.
If I buy the cable, will it be relatively easy for me to figure out how to do this or am I better off replacing the instrument cluster? It's an old car now, and spending $2000 seems like a waste. I found a guy on Craig's list that claims he can do it for $20 per code, but when I approached him personally, he said that he won't do it until I pay for at least $200 worth of codes. |

Is it hard? No, you just have to pay attention to what you are doing, there are many excellent step by step guides. The hardest part for me was getting the software to work on my windows 8, 64 bit laptop. If you are the type that is afraid to install software on your computer or you take it to the shop or call someone every time something goes wrong, and your computer is slow because it is loaded with bloatware and you can't figure out how to get rid of it then coding is probably not for you. Its something for people who are comfortable tinkering. If you decide to get a cable spend the time while your waiting on it reading, and then reading some more. Also I recommend downloading all the software you can get, even if you think you already have it. If you get a bad copy it might take a while to locate and download another one. |

All the software you need comes with this. The seller is super helpful and will even use teamviewer to help you out if you have any problems getting the software to talk to your car. |

Thanks for all the help. I forgot about this. Wedge pointed me in the right direction the same day I posted this. Thanks though.

Add out of toronto on Ebay. Shipped decently fast. The estimate was better than the drop ships from china. I'll try and find the link for you.
EDIT: This is an add by the same seller. I got it for 10$ cheaper though. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/K-CAN-K-DCAN-...p=mtr#ht_0wt_0

It is recognised by inpa on my desktop. I'm still trying to get the software installed on my Edge Pro tablet. So I haven't tried to code the car yet sorry.
