STL - Good Driving Roads
I'm looking to get some suggestions from all the STL 1ers on some good driving roads around the area, preferably with a low number of cops to avoid potential speeding tickets. Thanks!

I will try to dig up the roads that I drove as part of TT Central back in 2007... can't remember the details but a large chunk of it was on the "Great River Road" on the IL side of town... I believe we drove across the river at downtown, drove north for about an hour on the River Road beyond Alton, IL, and took a number of ferries across the Mississippi river before entering back into Missouri, well north of the StL area. It was a great drive - some of the back roads were to die for!

Extra Protection
I recommend the Escort 9500xi and Veil Stealth coating. You will have more of a stress free drive The Veil coating is applied to your license plate and headlights which will provide you with about 15-30 seconds to slow down when pinged by a laser gun. The Escort 9500xi will protect against Radar guns and speeding cameras.

Go to Barnes and Noble, and get a good Missouri county road map..one that shows the really great double alphabet roads. The River Rd Kamal mentioned is great...all along Illinois side. But head out to Defiance area, north toward Washington...or west of Pacific on the way to St.James, or head south into Farmington, all through the Mark Twain Forest.. just too many to name. You can go crazy with all the roads, each one better than the next.
But watch the speeds...its not just the cops, its the blind curves and 12 year old little girls around one of those blind curves on riding mower heading down the road [a road normally not attended by a heavy toed BMW owner LOL] to mow her grandma's yard. You just need one incident like that--life is over for you if not someone else. Just a thot for you to consider--our cars are fast, but thats not the point...now find those roads, and enjoy those spirited curves...there are lots of them. |

I'm from Dallas and currently staying in O'Fallon, MO for the duration of the summer. Anybody down for a cruise on the weekend or a meet up of some sort? The roads here are a lot nicer vs Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. Would love to meet some fellow 1addicts.
