These are dealer installed parts you can't get from factory, so they won't appear in the 'configurator'.

Just the F20.

How do you use the big fat screen on the 1 series if there is no i Drive controller installed? Bad photoshop?

Over here in Europe, people'll put those parts on a 320d or less
I'll probably too. If you like the look but can't afford a real M (which a lot of people can't over here), why not mod it the way you want.
I understand some people don't like it and I personally disapprove someone faking an M, but these don't even make the car look like a real M.

And hey, this pays for the development of M cars

I've seen it quite a few times in the Netherlands that I drove by a M3, or so it looked from the back (like a spitting image), and that it turned out to be a regular 3 series with some mods. I basically have no problem with people modding their car but I do feel it is kind of silly to make it look identical to a M, including small details like the ///M logo on the back and everything, only to find out it is that a 316, 318 or something similar instead. In my personal view, one should mod their car in such a way that it becomes a personal piece of work, something that carries your own signature so to say, not an exact copy of something you can buy in the store for a lot more money. It's just as silly as those ready-to-go kits that you could buy in Germany before (not sure if they still sell them). All you needed was a donor chassis and you can build your own Ferrari or Lambo. But just that you have build your own Ferrari, didn't make it an actual Ferrari

Not a fan of the wheels (F30), they're too filligree and too dark for my taste. And they're not sitting right in the wheel arches. Stripes are nothing for me, same for the interior parts. But I like the front, looks much better than the original look. Looks like not only the kidneys are black but also the head lights boxes.

Those decals come with the power kit, so no power kit no decals.

You're right!

FAKE!!! images for marketing purposes, BMW is getting more concerned about the image then the cars...

There was no such policy since day one. Various parts fitted to various M-cars are available either as factory options or dealer fitted accessories for non-M cars. Steering wheels, gear knobs, suspension components, bodykits etc.
It's only the mechanical stuff that are exclusive.

Blame BMWUSA for their laziness.

There was also the E28 M535i. The "M" logo was used quite indiscriminately since even before the first "real" M-car was born (debatable as to which is the 1st). In fact it was much much worse in the early 80's as I saw many a E21 3er with the inscription "M316" on the 2-headlamp front grill, steel wheels & all.

3.0 CSL?

Officially the M1 is the first 'real' M in my book.

Don't worry, if they don't make one, others such as AC Schnitzer will make one.

There already is a performance package in the form of the power kit, available for both the N54 and N55. They've been out for many, many months.
10-4. Didn't know if the current N55 pack would be an option for the F30. Even though it's the same engine.

if you cant distinguish an M3 from a 320 with M badges then you dont know bmw enough..

i personally have m3 spoiler and M mirrors on my 320i. Why? because i like the look. those that know that those parts belong on an m3 then they should know that it has a different front bumper, hood, front and rear fenders, rear bubper, two more exhaust pipes, roof!!!!!

performance parts have nothing to do with the M3..

I used to think the same thing until I saw it in person. Its actually very nice. Its going to take some time to get used to just like the E65/66 7 series and the E60 5 series.
