Unhappy Do I Win?? **UPDATE**

For being the first one to destroy their lip 2 days after installation? lol

Was going to head out to the FloridaBimmer Coffee Run today and hopped onto the highway. 30 seconds later going about 75mph I feel a vibration and then hear scraping. I knew immediately it was my lip so I pulled over and spotted the damage. Drove carefully to a friends house to jack up the car and remove the lip.

Can this be saved? It doesn't look like a lot of damage but the bottom of the lip is a little cracked. I might have to repaint it and lose the carbon fiber look.

Just incase anyone was wondering. I used the #8 1 inch screws and put washers. Then used 3M Out Door tape (but i guess not enough along with the florida heat).

tl;dr - drove on highway, lip tore, missed the coffee run, can i save it?

UPDATE
Got my Lip back repaired and repainted! v2 is stronger than my original although I do miss the carbon fiber look. Hopefully this one lasts a lot longer than my first!

I'm going to be making a 300mile trip tomorrow so lets see how she holds up.

would love to but then I'm afraid the cracking will become more severe over time and eventually just destroy the entire lip lol

thanks for the link.

Not sure if i'll be able to save the carbon fiber look but I think the lip is repairable. Would it look weird if I paint matched the lip to my car? I have a BSM e92

Just had the same thing happen with my Arkym...fixed it myself with resin. You can still tell its there but the structural integrity is sound

I don't think I hit anything. The Highway was clear. One thing to note is that the CPS is only carbon fiber through the front of the lip. If anything we didn't put enough tape to secure the lip to the center so going around 75 made the lip pull down because of the force which then led to it hitting the concrete at 75mph but the bolts stayed in tact.

2 days after installing mine, and my great idea of using self tapping screws proved to be a terrible idea lol. Lip came loose on one side, paired with the downforce when driving, I heard it scuffing on the ground, tried driving slowly to my gf's which was pretty close, it came off, drove over it and one end snapped off!!! Mine being fps plastic was good though! I got some CT 1 adhesive silicone and filled the crack and smoothed over the top and bottom and its on rock solid! (Sanded top down after and repainted so not noticeable )

This was right after I pulled off the highway and pushed the lip back into place but it wasn't on fully secured.

How much adhesive tape did you use? Because my Arkym lip didn't do that.

A good shop can fix the lip itself but not the CF, well they can but there will be imperfections. I would fix it and paint it gloss black it was my lip. Since you have a black car it doesn't matter lol.
