Bachelor Pad: Done!! (Pictures)
well almost...took out the old furniture and started the room from pretty much the ground up...
pictures of old room: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103098 pictures of new room: (the dvd player got a bit dusty from when i was putting the speakers up) i need to cover up the wires some how...i was thinking i should get some white tape and make 2 lines, one going down, and one towards the tv so it wouldnt be too noticeable...also, i want to get 2 comfortable seats that dont take up too much room for when my friends come over or when the family wants to watch a movie together...so what do you guys/girls think!?!? |

What's up with the floor? Is that a vinyl with wood print?
If you are going to hang something up the wall, make it an Andy Warhol BMW or at least pics of nicely modded BMWs from the forum. Would probably also benefit from a pair of ottomans, a low coffee table or an end table

I see. Some how it looks to m3 like you placed a wood print vinyl over the existing carpet...... I'm sorta retarded after I've been in the burbs for 12 weeks straight.

Don't know what your budget is like, but there's always Ligne Roset's P&P 900 modular entertainment center. You can even get a desk with the unit so you can totally convert this into a multifunction room.

Good start. Here's some suggestions:
- If you're going to be bringing girls home, don't get more chairs. It's more places for her to sit away from you. - Get a new entertainment center, a desk isn't acceptable if you're "balling" - You can buy rails that cover the speaker wires (inexpensive too). - Coffee Table Good Luck! |

No suggestions....
But I'm envious! Enjoy it because coming from a married guy your setup is pretty sweet. The lack of stuff can be consider as keeping it simple. Maybe some paint on the walls, but to me a clean house is easier to maintain.

I'm thinking Ligne Roset is out of your price range. Might I suggest this unit.
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S19831234 In person it is extremely nice and it will help disguise those speakers on the wall. Believe me when I say, storage is key and you can never have enough in a media room. Try to avoid the cheesy bachelor pad look of beer signs and naked chicks....if you plan on having broads over that may be a turn off. |

That's almost the exact setup I wanted for my room. I would put some nice posters on the wall though. Also, get some bean bags and a small glass table so people have a place to put their drinks and that sort of things on when they're visiting. When they're not there you can just put it aside as a decorative. Also, get a better looking tv stand (no offsense). I would get a black gloss tv stand to match with the tv (and also one that has spaces where you could put your dvd player and game consoles on without 'stuffing' them).
This is just my 2 cents but get one of those light stands with multiple "branches" coming out for lighting. It gives your room that kind of classy but modern look and will take that empty look away from the room. |
