PS3 Fan Noise Loud, is it normal or is it a problem? - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

I just bought a 40g PS3 last month. I've only played 1 game, 1 time, but have watched approximately 5 dvds with it, 3 Blu-Ray and 2 regular DVD.

Just 2 nights away, while watching a DVD rented from Blockbuster, my PS3 started blowing away like a damn hair dryer.

IS THE DAMN FAN SUPPOSED TO BE THAT LOUD?!?!

Please advise.

It changes the speed to cool itself

fine, ..it changes speed, ..but howcome it doesn't change back ! its friggin' loud!

just be glad you dont have an xbox 360

i have both and like the 360 way better but its just too damn loud. i got it at the xbox 360 launch too - glad its lasted me this long (knock on wood)

would you advise me to return for a new one?

perhaps get lucky with one that won't be a jumbo jet?

well if you could return/exchange why not, its def worth the troble for a little precaution imo
