The global economy is in recession: I expect BMW will be tightening costs (R&D) and the product mix will reflect that reality.

Will post some analysis on this separately.

A lot of folks on E90post are interested in the USA market planning.

Anything solid for E9x tii release for 2010 model year? Any word on options such as DCT, EDC, LSD?

I am all in favor of efficient dynamics -- hoping that the USA market sees the products sooner rather than later.

hi guys, its my first time on here, so be gentle? i just bought a 3 series m sport a few months ago and im already board with it. i dont know maybe i should do it up abit? ive seen the bm`s in the US, and guys they are done up nice.

I don't know how strict this is, but went I was sent to BMW "University" (Brand Academy) they stated that every series is scheduled for a new model every 7 years. The facelift (if deemed necessary) is done at the 3-4 year mark.

Granted they shoved a lot of brand nonsense down my throat that day, I don't really remember much except that they made me wear a funny hat when I went into the MINI Room...

If anyone has noticed the original 1977 BMW 7 series has code e23, but the car was released after the e24 6 series (1976). This was because the '70s fuel crisis, recession messed up launch plans then, and suspect the same reason will affect BMW's launch plans now, just my 2 cents.
