reflectors (GB?)
i was thnking of buying alpine white touch up paint and clear coat and painting my reflector that way. Has anyone done this?
Those that have painted reflectors how much did it cost to get it painted at a body shop? Would anybody be interested in a group buy? |

I did mine with touchup paint from the dealer and a brush and it doesn't look nearly as good as those that were spayed. It looks fine as long as you don't get too close. I'm happy for now, but one day I'll probably have it sprayed.

thanks for the info. I will probably buy aersol products from express paint. The total cost for the stuff will run me about $50. I could just go an get it painted at a body shop, but if they chipped i wouldn't have a way to touch it up so i think i am going to paint the myslef. Will try to get them painted in the next couple of weeks will post pics if i do get them done.

seriously though. their are a few minor mods you can do that cost only like $100 or less. visor label delete...CDV.....reflectors......black grills.....the list can go on. i could understand not being able to buy a set of wheels at this time as a nice forged set can break the bank. think about it |

For those with Black like Damit, tint is a pretty nice option. I saw one in person and I liked that if a light goes directly onto it, it will still act as a reflector, while being 'stealth' for just about every other condition. Its as easy as getting sheet tint at an auto store (go dark... 5%) removing the circles and laminating them with it.
For the rest of us, a simple at-home spray job works wonders. And, you can do your washer nozzles with the leftover paint if you feel like a little extra (as I did). |

just so you know dammmmmit, i have the tinted stickers i bought from dansdecals to color match to the car. In dark lighting, it looks amazing and flawless. but during the day, if you are really looking for them, you can see the orange kind of sticking out the sides. just barely. and to be honest, it is annoying the hell out of me now because i think if you are going to mod, you should mod properly. so i will be ordering paint and painting these because cheap mods look horrible.
an example of poor modding, i was at BMFEAST checking out some of the cars (unfortunately, no MZ4 roadsters!), but anyway, im looking at this 335 that looked awesome front the distance. the window trim and grill were painted black and looked nice. as i came closer to the car, i could see how the paint was chipping away and silver was shining through. then i looked at his cheapo carbon fibre splitters and laughed at how poorly people mod. DO IT RIGHT IF YOU ARE GOING TO DO IT AT ALL.

Also it makes me feel slightly better when I have to park the car on the street that it's a little more visible.
