He is the expert of doing this retrofit, and is always helpful with questions on it. |

I bought the parts individually and it came up to under $1000. Still too much money for the limited, dated functionality but I like the stock look.

where do you get the retrofit kit from? I priced the monitor alone from tischer and that alone was 1.5k

I got the monitor ($80 new) and head unit (new $200 but it's cheaper now) from ebay Germany and MKIV from CL (used $400). The harness, brackets, nuts and bolts and everything else can be ordered from Tischer or other BMW dealers and will cost another $200 or so. All the main parts are usually available on ebay for less than $1000. For example:
