The economy is so bad that Costco...

has a lot less sample stations. 75 percent less at the Costco where I shop!
The samples that they give you are small and cheap too. Instead of whole samples such as baked items or chocolates from the box they cut it into tiny pieces. And the whole sample items are usually crackers or potato chips.

I won't be going back to Costco anymore because the 50 dollar a year membership is a total rip off. Oh yeah, they jacked up the prices on almost all the food items by 1 to 2 dollars or more.

I still find the prices are pretty good. I love the fact you can get a 5 pound bag of clams or mussels for about 12-14 dollars.

Costco needs to update their stores. I remember going to Costco 20 years ago and 20 years later, the interior still looks the same. It just dosen't make much sense to shop at Costco anymore especially for food. There are way better stores in my area right now for quality food for lower prices.

There are some people who go to Costco during their lunch breaks just for the samples at this Costco at the downtown location. I doubt they could get full from the samples from now on.

The reason why WDS(the independent contracting company) that works for Costco does not hand out as many samples anymore is because people are just not purchasing their items they sample as much as before. If everyone went in and took samples and did not purchase any of their items, it would cause them to run less demos(bring in less revenue). In a way, you can blame the customers that gets samples for lunch time. Costco looks exactly the same because of its' business strategy, they simply do not need to make their store "pretty." You see, when you purchase a membership for $50, it basically seals the deal that you'll be a customer for at least a year. You can compare all of their items, and you won't find any places that will beat their prices as a whole(i.e. soap, mouth wash, bread). Even with the $50 membership fee, it is still worth it if you have a family greater than 3. Buying in bulk is just more convenient now a days. Costco is still your best bet compared to Walmart and Target.

Its a fucking warehouse. How exactly should the interior of a low price, high volume warehouse that operates on a price advantage look to you?

I"ll know the economy has really gone in the shithole once costco raises the prices for their hot dog/drink combo currently at $1.50 and has been like that for the past 15 years or so (from what i heard). If I was a homeless person I would camp near a costco b/c I could scrounge up a buck fiddy and get a polish dog and drink which would be filling

Costco did buy Price Club, and those stores then became Price-Costco, and eventually changed to just Costco. (At least that's what happened to the Price Club near my house)

costco will always hold a place in some of our hearts. i still go there three times a week and each time is just as amazing as the last.

however, on saturday i just found out that mothers cookies went out of business, and that i'm still trying to cope with.
