It is a stimulant medication. It is a controlled medication for ADHD. You will need to go to your doctor and get a script.

You will not be able to buy it off the street because it does not give a high and therefore is not abused.

ive taken it during finals week the past few semesters. it honestly helps. however, i dont know if im going to continue to rely on it as a 'study buddy' from now on as there were too many sleepless nights.

You are right. My bad. Adderall XR is the one withouit street value because it comes in a bead from that does not work if it is snorted. Even if the beads are crushed - it stil won't give a high. To get a high on Aderall XR ones needs to 'cook' it at a particular temperature & at a certain pH to extract the active compound. Duration of action of Adderall XR is around 10 hours.

Plain Adderall is different. That comes in tablets that people do crush and snort - and sometimes inject. Duration of action is 4-6 hours.

Addictive drugs have shot durations of action. Drugs that are abused need to enter the brain quickly and then leave quickly. Cocaine gets into the brain in minutes and leaves within 20 minutes. Hence the addiction potential. Adderall (plain) stains around 4 hours - so the first hit does work but repeated hits do not work like in cocaine because one starts from 0 in cocaine every 20 minutes.

XR actually has the highest street value because it lasts the longest and if you crush it and snort it it will hit you pretty hard. definitely do not need to cook it.

Then you know something that I do not....

I will have to discuss this with the people who manufacture Adderall XR.

Keep in mind that caffeine is from the same class as cocaine and other stimulants. From a theoretical viewpoint - a long 1/2 life goes against addiction potential....

either you're an habitual drug user/addict or your major in college was pharmacy/chemistry.
