Question about Xenon headlight...
hi all..i m newbie here...i m driving an E90 323i...
i recently replaced my original halogen headlight to xenon headlight (all BMW parts including bulbs and ballast)...afterall the light's working nicely except the warning light comes out! i've asked BMW but they said the light's not bought from them directly and they can't reset the error code. So does anyone know is there anyways or any garage in HK can reset/disable the warning light for me? Thanks a lot guys! |

as per our understandings, you have to ask for a quote (if they will) from BMWHK to reprogram your E90 to "recognise" the Xenon kit. Or you have to live with the warning.

thanks little croco...i've asked BMW and willing to pay for whatever they can do to turn off the warning. Unfortunately they said it's not possible to do so since the headlight was not bought from them and they don't even know what modification my garage did. sigh ~_~

k3fung, just want to ask where did you get the OEM xenon headlight in HK and how much is it as I'm looking for one as well!
While for the warning, I have seen posts about it in the cosmetic modification section and it said you've got to wire it with some sort of resistor to have the resistance correct. You can go there to have a look and see if it's help |

I think some garage in HK might able to shut off that warning light. However, it's possibly as what cwandy said, you gotta solve the hardware problem to eliminate warning in the future.
BTW....I dont need the xenon lights, but I'm just curious where your garage got them and how much you paid them for?

maybe the software is different for Asian E90. if you can enable retrofit xenon, can other shops do for you if they have the software? forget the dealer, they won't do it.
