Gas Station / Octane / HPFP Questions (First Results Posted)

I know everyone is sick of the HPFP polls, but here is another one. I searched and didnt see anything like it so I figured I would give it a shot. If it has already been done, then I apologize in advance.

Rather than trying to do formal poll with 38 options, I would like to get an idea on the gas stations / octane levels / State that the people with failed HPFP are using. If you can respond with the following, then I will do the data crunching and try to come up with some meaningful data if there is a pattern. If you use multiple gas stations, list them all.

UPDATED....

Here is a link to the data. The format is pretty rough now, Ill try to clean it up as I go...

http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?k...sQ&output=html

Example:

HPFP FAIL (8000 miles) (11/15/2008) (failure mileage and date)
Model Year 2008

Chevron / 93 / Georgia
Wal-Mart / 93 / Georgia

Refill Level (1/8) (e.g 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, EMPTY)

Or:

HPFP NO FAIL (15000 miles)
Model Year 2009
BP / 93 / Florida
(1/4)

My car had any long cranks(aprox 5 seg) and i think in a hpfp error.
I go to the service, but my dealer said me that this problem don´t stay in europe because we use 98 octanes fuel and this problem only pass in place that use a low octanes.
Is it real?.

Ill let this go for a couple of weeks and throw it all into a database and see if anything magical comes out. I know it will be a relatively minuscule data set, but its a start.

here is my data....

HPFP NO FAIL (15000 miles)
Model Year 2008

Chevron / 93 / Georgia
QuickTrip / 93 / Georgia
Shell / 93 / Georgia
(EMPTY)

I'll respond when we get it back from the shop with the "official" response.

I do my best not to let it get down too low before filling up. Just a habit from cars way back that you would burn the fuel pumps up if you ran it too low since they were in tank and not gravity feed types like in every FI mustang from 85 up. they sit in a Hat bolted to the top of the tanks with a pickup and filter at the bottom but it never really reaches all the way to bottom of the tank so sucking air is possible and burning the pump.

98 octane in europe = 93 octane in usa. Europe calculates octane differently, so your gas is the same octane as our gas.

[QUOTE = stevenc; 5993212] 98 octanos en Europa = 93 octanos en los EE.UU.. Europa calcula de manera diferente octanaje, para que su gas es el octanaje igual que nuestro gas.

Thanks, then my dealer told me a lie .They told that in europe doesn´t have any bulletin of this.

No HPFP problem at 21k miles. Car ran on low fuel (down to less than 10 miles range) several times and always use QT 93 Octane fuel with 10% Ethano and no problem so far, just keep the finger crossed.

Edit: Pretty sure all PA gas uses up to 10% ethanol.
Aside: Per Pennsylvania law, any gas station that includes ethanol must have a sticker on the pump disclosing that fact. No sticker in Pa. should mean no ethanol, if the law is being obeyed.

As for me:

HPFP NO FAIL
May 2009 build
3800 miles
Used 95 RON in Europe ~ 600 miles
In USA, mostly 93 octane Shell. One tank with 92 octane.
