valentine 1 radar question

just bought a used v1 radar detector off craigslist for $150! Its v1.8 but doesnt have POP. Still thought it was a good deal

my questions is, there is this bracket connected to the lighter charger part. It clicks back and forth. Can anyone tell me waht that does? The v1 manual online says it the articulated bracket but I have no idea what that means or what the purpose of having it is.

It's used for mounting the concealed display.

so if i dont have the conceal display kit, I can just take it off? Or can i just leave it?

You can take it off or leave it, whichever. You know you can send it in and get it upgraded, right?

You can take it off .. and you can also send it in and get it upgraded for like 50-75 bucks like the poster above said.

Yes i know it can be upgraded, but I dont think its worth it to get POP for $1xx since I heard it's rarely used and/or they cannot use it to give tickets.
