You never want to see someone leave the ice on a stretcher, and I hope Horton has a speedy recovery! I figured the Canucks would win in 5 games; but last night was just downright embarrassing.

I actually started off this series going for the Nucks, but after the first 3 games I find myself cheering for the Bruins. Either way a long hard fought series would be great.

Rome was suspended 4 games for the lateness of that play, but at the same time you can see Horton admiring his pass. Scott Stevens made it to the hall of fame feasting on guys doing this. Before you guys flame me for this...even the Mike Murphy clarified that the suspension was based on a north-south hit, not a blind side. The NHL needs to eliminate the grey with assessing each head shot situation separately and treat it as a high stick/shooting the puck over the boards (which is black & white). Before calling the Canucks dirty, please watch the way the Bruins have been playing as well. The Canucks gave some/tooks some cheap hits. Bruins are playing the same way as well. Neither teams are saints, which is what makes this series compelling to watch. BTW....whatever happened to the charging penalty? Every big hit last night you can litterally count more than three strides before the collision. |

I think the Bruins are way dirtier than the Nucks
how does this receive no penalty? and the following received no suspensions: And yet THIS hit receives the longest suspension in Playoff history: and instead of a using a video clip, how about a still image? ![]() clearly contact is established BEFORE this picture, yet both of his feet are on the ice. Argue all you want about the suspension, how dirty the nucks are, etc. but wtf with these calls man? the NHL is bullshit. Last edited by Doctor J; 06-09-2011 at 10:24 AM. |

What I found laughable was that I vaguely recall that Ben Eager only got a 2 minute boarding call, when that play was clearly more dangerous than the Rome/Horton incident. The Rome/Horton hit was a hockey play gone wrong.

In that last picture of the Rome Horton hit, it portays romes path as being perpendicular to the path of Horton...
I think a lot of the "Dirtiness" of this series is in retaliation. Like the Thomas slash in game 4 of Burrows was due to Burrows trying to knock Thomas' stick out of his hand on 4 different occasions...
