***Official BimmerPost Photo Contest #34: Couples in Love***

Official BimmerPost Photo Contest #34: Portrait of Love
___________________________________________
RULES: (obey them you f*ckers--even though I don't sometimes...)

1. Any interpretation of the theme that falls within Bimmerpost.com rules and the theme is welcome.
2. You must be the person that took the photo. Previous photos are acceptable as long as you are the one that captured the image.
3. One submission per contest.
4. Images must be no larger than 800px in any direction. Links to larger images are allowed but you must have one that is under 800px for the poll.
5. All contestants must host their own pictures (which includes hosting them on Bimmerpost).
6. All images must have a title.
7. While post processing in Photoshop is allowed, adding or removing parts of the picture is not. In the event a photo is suspected to be "photo-chopped," the contestant will be asked to provide the original picture.
**8. Keeping this in mind for the voting thread, each voter will be allowed multiple votes, as one is too selective seeing that skill is based upon different criteria from different eyes.

THEME:
The theme is a "Portrait of Love," in the sense that the photograph depicts preferably two or more subjects between which feelings, expressions, and actions based on love--in any arguable respects of the word--are corresponded. There can be love that is not reciprocated--love does not have to be depicted from all subjects, as long as it is expressed by at least one subject (love from afar, love for a car, love for one who is lost, etc). Ideally, people (or pets) should be the main subjects of the photo, but if you think you can capture love between a man and an inanimate object (we all love our cars here), more power to you. You may include yourself in the photo by way of a self-timer or a remote shutter release.

IMPORTANT DATES:
Entries must be submitted to this thread no later than Sunday, April 10th, 2011 @ 11:59 CST (*subject to change*). The poll will begin on the following Monday (*also subject to change*).

Please by all means ask questions: this can be a difficult one, so I am willing to explain further or even make changes if any of you feel that you do not have the time/resources needed to best reflect your photographic skills under the parameters of this contest.

Good luck.

judd how are you going to be allowing only 2 votes? you realize if you make it multiple voting you're going to get 20 people who don't read the instructions and will either vote for only 1 or for more than 2.

It's probably due to brown and green grass mixed in the BG and the wind blowing hard. The bokeh from my 500mm is usually very smooth. You're the first to mention it, but I've always wondered why it looked a little different. I "could" doctor it with guassian layer, but, that's not allowed here or in most contests.

Dave

I was just simply making sure the people participating in the contest understood that those who vote will be able to vote for two photographs as opposed to just one.

It will obviously be made clear again when the voting thread is posted, but I felt it necessary to dispel the anticipation as to whether people will be allowed to vote twice.

also, if you're really concerned about people in the voting contests, put it in the title if it's multiple vote or not, so when people are clicking the link, they will see it says "multiple" before they even get into the thread.

just a thought.

if the person making it went

****MULTIPLE VOTE****Official BimmerPost Photo Contest #34: Couples in Love

that would definitely get noticed when someone is clicking the link,

any excuses after that would have to be pretty creative for not realizing it's not multiple.
