Hey

Anybody using a graphic tablet in photoshop or lightroom? Always thought it would be nice to draw masks and such with a tablet other then a mouse.

But i'm affraid that's the only use i'll make of it, and waste my money at the end of the day.

There's some small ones that go for cheap on ebay ($35 shipped), so maybe i'll try those out and wait to see if this is something that I really like before putting more money on that.

Anybody ever tried one?

I have a small Wacomm tablet. I couldn't get used to the separation aspect where I was moving a pen on a tablet but looking elsewhere. I can do it with a mouse, but I couldn't do it as accurately with a tablet. On the other hand, I have a friend who recently bought a larger Wacomm tablet and he swears by it. So as with many things, it depends on the individual.

will the ipad have the power to run such a thing? maybe Ipad 3...

I might buy lightroom 4 if it has some nice features.

anyone know if you can install on multiple computers? I have a PC and a laptop i take on the road, so one instance of LR wouldn't really work.

You should be fine... the A5 processor is fast enough.

I hate wating for the specs on things like the Ipad 3, I want to know if I can unload raw files onto it and be able to view them from it, I wouldn't have to bring a laptop with me for extra storage.

interesting, I have much to learn. Info on Ipod stuff in Kitchener is hard to get because this is where Blackberry comes from So all the natives are extremely biased to the point of being actually very rude about Iphones and Ipads. (without knowing much about them)

Being able to process on an ipad would be really nice, but there's a lot of "if's".

I would love to try it, but i'm afraid drawing with a finger would be even less precise then a mouse. And this is the purpose when you want to go for a tablet, you want to be more precise. So a pen would be needed. Standard stylus wouldnt work with Ipads.

Also, i'm concerned about the graphic processor; not the processor itself. Would it run LR smoothly? Time will tell.

And one last thing, storage could be an issue. I say "could" because I wouldnt be surprised to see a GIGA format of Ipad3 being part of the lineup; like a 256go.

So while we're waiting for the Ipad3 announcement, I think i'll try a Wacom tablet and see if a tablet is for me first.

You could get a pogo stylus for drawing...or a wrapped sausage would work too

Wouldnt like to borrow your Ipad after you do such a thing ahah.

Wacom makes a LCD version of its tablet. But it costs an arm and a leg; half the price of an ipad :s

If true, it looks like I'll just be able to sneak in with student pricing before I graduate in a couple of weeks

Are they changing anything from the beta? I've been using the beta exclusively since it came out, LR3 feels old to me now.
