I have Photoshop, which I consider to be the ultimate imaging software.

Chewy: How are you liking your big stopper so far? I am really disappointed with the adjustable ND filter I have. Optics arent that good so I'm loosing picture quality on the D800. It didnt show that much on the D7000 tho.
I really liked the effect of the longer exposures the big stopper provides, but wasnt so sure about the $400 expense to get the foundation kit and all that just for that filter. I am seriously considering the B+W 3.0 10 stops ND instead for $100. I found a good comparison between the two. http://mattlauder.wordpress.com/2010...er-review-pt1/

The LEE Big Stopper is the best 10-stop ND filter there is. I don't think there's much argument about that. The problem is the price and the extreme lack of availability. Most photogs I've spoken to that have the B+W got it because the LEE was on backorder for 6 months, on average, and needed something quick. If they had the opportunity to buy one or the other, I don't know a single one (out of maybe 6) who wouldn't choose LEE. That being said, I highly recommend it with the LEE foundation kit. I was able to use it with a 105mm LEE CP as well, as well as a LEE GND. The foundation kit gives you a lot of flexibility and is constructed well. If you're interested in either the LEE Big Stopper or 105mm CP, PM me, since I have an extra of both. ![]() |

ok, another question for you guys...
Tomorrow I'm going to a Browns game. 30 yard line, row 3. What lens should I take (24-105, 135, 70-200, or 100-400)? I can probably only take one. |

The one which is not a "professional" lens. Some places will frown upon seeing the glory of the white lens. Check on the rules, if a go I would 100-400 it unless it is in the evening then go with the other.

70-200 2.8 for us normal folks who can't crank up the ISO and F5.6 for those DX'rs.
Figure out how deep you want your DOF, at least 1/400th speed and how crazy you are comfortable with noise reduction. The only HS games I did, I ran out of stops and ISO with a 300/4

I'm not too worried about ISO. I'll be shooting at f/4 or less open like f/5.6. I don't have any lenses that are f/2.8 and telephoto. I guess the 135 f/2 qualifies, but it's not a zoom.
I'm just trying to figure out if I need anything past 200mm from where I'm seated? |

Google maps, distance tool, field of view and some trig should help figure out how wide you want.

I put a 512GB SSD drive in my MBP today. So it's got an i7 Quad core, 16GB RAM, and the SSD. Boot into Windows on Bootcamp is 35 seconds from a cold start. I just loaded the Adobe Web and Design Premium suite from a thumb drive in 9 minutes.
All hail the SSD! ![]() Now for some Photoshop tests.

You want to guard against under exposure. I'd start at +1EV and check your blinkies, particularly if one team is wearing a lot of white. Watch your shutter speed in the viewfinder and keep it up around 1/500-sec. Looking forward to some high-ISO pix taken in real world circumstance. ![]() Dave

I'll have to see if they let me bring the 100-400mm into the stadium. Security has been beefed up this year at all NFL stadiums. I have a feeling they won't let me bring my dSLR in.
