can't comment on taylor made, but i just bought a new set of calloway razr X irons, hybrids, 3 wood, and 9.5 tour driver. such a great set of clubs. if you're shopping around, go hit a set of those clubs. they're fantastic.
(i might be kind of biased because i just replaced a big bertha club set with these. i liked those, too) |

Never liked the feel of TM clubs (irons, drivers, etc.) -- too harsh.
Never liked the weight of Titleist clubs. Don't mind Callaways. Love Mizuno irons -- most buttery smooth irons you'll ever play (so long as you hit the center of the clubface). I bought a used set of Bridgestone forged irons -- similar in feel with Mizuno, but a little better swingweight for my taste. As for driver, I like the feel of Clevelands; TM feels too harsh. Clevelands have that muted, soft *twock* (rather than *ping*) that I like. |

sorry guys i was at company picnic today for my work left the cell in the car.
Taylormade makes great clubs, but when it comes to clubs it comes down to feel and looks. All clubs are set to a limit by USGA so every clubmaker pushes their technology to the limit. So when people ask me what clubs are the best i always say the same answer. no matter what your handicap is get custom fitted to your specs then try and hit 6iron and PW of as many manufactures as you can and pick which ones you like the look of at address and which ones felt the best to you when you hit the ball. Now me personally have always been a titleist guy, the only reason is they fit my eye and i like the feel of the club. ![]()

I picked up a set of Titleist 755cm clubs 2 years ago and I'm still in love. Custom Grips, 1/2" longer, 1* Up on the toe, fits perfect. A set of clubs are worthless unless you get it custom fitted.

I agree with schoy, just picked up a set of mizuno mp53's and i think I'm in love. I've played Calloways and TM's in the past, but none of those compare to the feeling of a well-hit shot with the mizunos. That being said, my wedges are titleist.

I play with Taylormade R7 irons and I love them. I live across the street from a Golfsmith and swung just about every club in the store and hit best with those. I also use a Burner driver and fairway wood. Cleveland and Titleist make the best wedges (IMO).

I've had a set of TP irons before. Weren't that bad actually, I've never really been a big fan of other clubs though. I currently still hit Mizuno MP33's and MX23's on days I haven't played in a while. I'm wanting to get the callaway tour x's or a set of AP titleist irons.

You should try a good set of Mizuno's....lol. I have a set of T-zoids that I lend to buddies. They were ok, but nothing like some of their newer irons.
I moved on to MP-30's that I loved, but came upon a great deal on a custom set of R7 TP's. Good irons that will be getting replaced next season. I also agree with Vokey's ftw. |

I have one Vokey Oil Can 60* and I just picked up a Cleveland CG16 Black Pearl 56* low bounce yesterday. Can't wait to try it out!

Last year I got my handicap below 10, and I have learned to just stay away from my 60*, You have to take such a large swing to get it to go anywhere, if you actually miss hit it, its an ugly day, my 56* is more forgiving and easier to use. I think phil is a great teacher though, I enjoy his trick shots. |

WTF are you looking at?
|
Just got a set of Burner 2.0 Irons and 3 - 4 Hybrids and 3wood along with the new R11. Can not say enough about them. First round after being fit I shot the best round I have ever shot at my club (82). I hit maybe 70-75% GIR. Every approach shot was fantastic. Just a ton of confidence in every swing. I swear I have never hit a more forgiving set of Irons. It is absurd the places on the face you can hit the ball and it will still make good contact.

It was given to us for our Member Member tournament at my club in WPB about 6 months or so ago... The fee for the tournament was very very high though.
