How is the coupe 10k more than the sedan if both are similarly equipped? The sedan is more than 3k cheaper all other things being equal.

44,000 x $8.00 = $352,000 USD

It's cheaper in Japan? Wow, I thought it would be more expensive.
If you were to purchase a $45k in countries such as Vietnam, HK, etc. (obviously not Japan), the car would cost you about $90k (USD) if not more.

Paid $46K (give or take a few hundred i forget) for my e92 328xi in January with everything except nav and adaptive cruise and i remember the e90 sedan as closely equipped as i could make it (e92 coupe still has more features like bi-xenons which i could be wrong but i think the e90 is a low beam only sytem) worked out to be $1,500 less. The reason that the e92 base is more expensive than the e90 base is that the e92 comes equipped with more standard features like the bi-xenon adaptive lighting (first thing that comes to mind) at least in the states. I'm sure there are other factors as well. I would much rather pay the extra 1,500 just for the looks alone although i like the sedan as well, i prefer the coupe.

Not sure if your being sarcastic (i'm too tired right now) but in case you aren't, I did pay less than sticker, and I got some goodies thrown in, which IMO isn't bad for a car i spec'd and ordered vs negotiating on a car already in inventory especially when it was the only build slot available until January at my dealer (i ordered in November).

Wouldn't it be cheaper to import one and go through all that crap? I donno how that stuff works since i've never done it but damn, i could never justify that for any BMW.

It's only overpriced if people won't pay for it. I see a lot of demand for this "over priced" car.

This may be one of many reasons for the 1 series intoduction to the US.
