That looks like a BMW 850. They were built in different variations from '90-'99. The OPs photo appears to be a Toyota or other Japanese brand with a BMW badge. The OPs is definitely not a BMW.

I keep missing the opportunity to photograph it, but there is a Ford minivan that drives around my area that has the front of an E36 3 series grafted onto it. Not just the badge, but the whole hood, fenders, and grills.

It only makes me mad if they stole it off a BMW instead of buying it. It's impossible to tell how they got it, but I bet a lot just grabbed it off a car.

Z8 Was never offered with a 12, only the "8". I love the 8 series cars, but would never want a 2 cylinder version, I've heard horror stories about maintenance and service costs. The Older 8s and the 7s were my favorites. Bangle earned a place in my "Needs a Beating" file when he destroyed the 7 series... It was one of the classiest sedans on the road.

The Z8, never really did much for me, I like the styling cues it provided for the Z4s but really not much else about it appealed to me.

Agreed about the old Seven. To my eye it was perfectly proportioned. That may have been the problem. No room to improve so an entirely new direction was needed. I can't think of a Bangle design that I really love but they did revitalize the perception of BMW stying and that might have been all that was needed. Like the old Hollywood line "I don't care what they write about me as long as they spell my name right".
Sorry about the 8 vs 12 mistake. I'm awaiting my ED to hit port and am somewhat distracted.
