Mine was a 1984 BMW 318i...put it in fifth..and it slowed down.

BTW, here is what I have owned in terms of BMWs..

1984 318i
1989 325iS
1989 325i - race car
2007 335i

I've had 3 E46's prior to the E92...

I loved it all...

But i never did like that hatchback 318 though...looks terrible

Ive had a 00 328 sport, a 01330i sport, an 04 330i perf. package, an 06 330isport, and lastly a 335isport. I loved all of them. I cant say which I liked the least but I like the 335i the most.

How do i choose? i had a 1988 318i that I bought in germany with cash. It was my first stick and it was a fun car to drive...even it if it was falling apart. And now I have an ///M Coupe. Can't say I disliked either car. Sure the 318i had some issues cuz it was old...but I liked owning it outright.

Hated: The E36. Never owned one cause it never appealed to me.
Love: My current 2001 E46 330i. Would transplant 335 engine if I could.
Love: My future 2007 335i. Fine any excuse to go test drive till have my own.

E60 M5...love the engine but still don't like the looks of the current 5er...even in M trim. I hate SMG...my first E46 M3 had it and I kept it two months before trading it for a manual but I let the salesman talk me out of waiting for the manual tranny and going with the newer...better SMG on the M5. Loved the motor and the interior but hated SMG and exterior looks...

Its a toss up with my o6 330i and the 04 perf.package.I loved the 04.handling was phenomonal.

A family member has a new 750.. that thing puts me to sleep. It is big and boring. No fun at all to drive. The idrive is pretty lame too.

Least favorite was my former '01 330Ci. Buick steering (over-boosted) that was later retrofitted per BMW SIB. 1st year of DBW, slow throttle response.

Have owned the following BMWs:

'86 Euro E30 325i (2dr)
'87 E30 325is
'88 E30 M3 (still own)
'92 E34 525i
'93 E36 325i
'99 E36/7 Z3 2.3
'00 E46 323Ci
'01 E46 330Ci
'06 E90 330i

Next BMW maybe a 2009-2010 135i

'81 320i (e21)

''92 325i (e36)
'00 328i (e46)
'03 M3 (e46)
'07 335i (e90)

If I have to pick a car I liked the least, it would have to be the '92 325i because of the build quality.

FYI: When I read postings about the peeling trim around the radio and steering wheel and easily scratched door handles on the e9x, it makes me wonder if BMW has lowered it standards to e36 levels again. My e36 had a number of trim failures including door panels bubbling(all 4 doors), sunroof sunshade breaking (needed new sunroof cassette,) window regulators, air vent adjuster breaking off inside, etc.

I've had quite a few working for BMW, and I would say my least favorite was my 06 z4. A fun drive, but too small and it rattled and shook and the general build quality left something to be desired. I was actually driving once and part of the rear view mirror fell off, the caps near the top fell off a few times, but it was fun to drive, but I'd never get another one I don't think.

2004 X5 4.4i - Wife's car. She loves it more than I do.
2005 M5 - favorite all-around car. Commute, track, road-trip.
1989 750iL - Big, squishy, comfy gas hog
1988 M6 - Raw energy. Fun (but heavy) track car

Formerly owned:
1995 540i 6 Speed - Fast and fun
1995 540iA - Fast, but grew to hate the Auto tranny.
1996 Z3 1.9 - Loved it, didn't care about the power
