speeding at night - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

hello, during the day cruising down the highway i could usually feel pretty comfortable going like 75mph in a 65mph because i can see ahead and see where the cops are sitting. but at night the cops sit with all there lights off and i cant see them. i feel very nervous to go at all over the speed limit because i cant see where they are. i see other people at night flying past me. am i missing something? or do other people feel the same way?

You can speed at night because the radar guns can't see as well in the dark.

What part of the country do you live in because I think that has some weight in the discussion. I drive the same speed regardless of the time of day but find that anything less than 15mph over the limit will not even bat a lash on a waiting cop. If the limit is 55, I'll go 69 (tee hee). 65 = 79mph. No issues in 15 years using this formula. I know other parts of this country are different but the bottom line is to not be an outlier. That's where you run into trouble.

Sometimes when I'm pooping I sit down. I only sit down with hopes that maybe one time I won't hit the walls. More often than not I still paint the wall...
