Polishing interior woodgrain finish

The finish on the woodgrain seems to be completely shit, it scratches very easily and I just tried polishing it for the 1st time.

I used Mothers plastic polish using cotton tips with some elbow grease (was squeeking) and then finishing it off with a lighter polish using microfiber cloth.

Not only did it not take out the scratch completely but its left the small area I polished hazy. Luckily this was only a small test area.

I am suspecting the plastic is too soft for Mothers plastic polish and I will need something less harsh to finish it off.

So wondering if anyone has had any luck with this POS interior finish? Perhaps best solution is wraping it in fake CF?

I personally like the look of cf wrapped trim. But that's personal preference.

Here's a good video from chemical guys showing the ins and outs of the process

Cool thanks, and I dunno why he didnt just pop off the trim on the door panel, they come right off with your hands.

How did I not realise I am trying to "polish my wood".
