White smoke/ stuck injectors
On my way to work my 135i started misfiring on 4/5/6 and clouds of white smoke came out. I had no choice but to drive the car to work and back home later that day. I decided to order new injectors, and I have a few questions.
1. I burned through 6 gallons of fuel driving 15min to work and back, I’m guessing this has completely destroyed my Cats. If the cats are melted, am i able to drive the car for a few days until i order some new *********, or will this cause further problem. 2. After I install the new injectors, Can i drive the car for a couple days until i can get them coded? 3. Should I replace plugs after the injectors, even though I just installed new plugs less than 5k ago? 4. Should I get an Oil change, because I read online that the excess fuel could have mixed with the oil? 5. I plan on doing a compression test after I install the injectors, because I’m worried that the rings might have been washed out. What compression #s am I looking for? Any info is appreciated, Thank you Codes: 29F1 29D0 2B2B 29D0 29D9 29D1 29D2 This is what it looked like:

I swapped the injectors with some part number "079s" from ECS tuning. My injectors have numbers ending in (261-12) on them, so I'm guessing these are the new index 12 Injetors?? The swap was very straight forward and easy. It took me less than a hour to swap them out. The car fired right up and smoked for a few minutes.
I did the oil change immediately after swapping them. The oil flowed out of the drain plug like water, because it was filled with a lot of gas. I did a compression test, and got 170 compression across all cylinders. The car idles a lot better, but I still need to put in new plugs and get the injectors codes. I'm also getting the valves walnut blasted in 2 week. I hope this is the end of my misfire issues. Thanks |
