EVO takes a look at four greats from a soon-to-be old school group of cars. They will be considered ‘old school’ not just because of their age, but because of new technology and the changing demands on performance cars.
Why has EVO gathered these cars up for a day of driving fun, but also lament? Because the M3 and the others cars in this group are “united under a dark cloud of recent or imminent death. Of course there will be another GT3, another M3 and another Clio Cup, but they won’t quite be the same. The cars that replace these machines will each lose something at the burning core of their appeal.”

French automotive magazine Motorsport takes a Competition Package equipped BMW M3 to the track for some lap time testing on the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours in France. Spoiler results below video.
Here is an E92 M3 coupe looking ultra smooth in a custom Satin Pearl vinyl wrap.
We bet this M3, constructed from mostly carbon fiber, is the most comfortable one in the world, and something you’ve never seen before.
This M3 is one of a kind and when finished it will feature an auto reclining bed, sports seats, LED disc brakes, dry ice, and full ICE hooked up. Under the hood, it is a computer workshop.
And it’s mostly carbon fiber.
According to a report out of Autoblog, the US may finally see some specialized M models soon. The latest desirable special M hardware, such as the M3 CSL, M3 GTS, M3 CRT have not been available in the US due to homologation issues, but BMW recently said at the Detroit auto show to expect “an interesting year” and that buyers can expect one or two products aimed specifically the C63 AMG Black Series. Project Fire: Version Two. In the heart of every M3 enthusiast is the desire to own a “special” M3, one that illustrates their love for everything BMW but also with their own unique flair and individualization. On Project Fire: Version Two, we made the car into a close GTS replica, with an edge.
Once we acquired the OEM M3 GTS wing, we knew the direction of the project’s new version. The AE Performance Bar in Fire Orange and RECARO SPG XLs were next, mounted using the OEM sliders and mounting positions. The Shift knob was exchanged for the Macht Schnell Nylon edition with an Active Autowerke SSK as well.

Via G-Power: Sometimes less is even more. For example in regards of a car’s weight. Because less weight improves the performance of the BMW M3 and so provides more driving pleasure. With the G-POWER aerodynamic program “RS”, which is completely fabricated from Carbon fibre, one can make the BMW M3 lighter and therefore faster. At the same time the G-POWER “RS” Carbon parts increases the aerodynamic downforce and thus provides for even faster cornering speeds.
G-POWER’s roots have their origin in motorsports. Already in the early eighties G-POWER tuned BMW 02 models were competing for top position in their category. Today G-POWER is still active in motorsports and competing in series like the Spezial-Tourenwagen-Trophy (STT) and the DMV Touring Car Championship (DMV TCC).
