Here is an updated comparison of the now officially released C63 AMG facelift photos versus the E90 M3 sedan.
Unlike the CLS 63 AMG, the C63 AMG is still powered by the naturally aspirated 6.2 l V8, rated at 451hp and 443 lb-ft in the C63. Most significant changes are the switch from the traditional 7-speed auto to the AMG-MCT7 and the introduction of a Start/Stop feature. It’s uncertain however if the latter will make it to the US.

G-Power, builder of some monster BMWs, has announced its plans to spec up the already lethal M3 GTS over 600hp through the use of its G-POWER’s SK II CS supercharger system. They will be working with a total of three M3 GTS, quite impressive considering only 220 M3 GTS are available.
On the heels of the big BMW turbo 4-cylinder news yesterday, SCOTT26 has provided some dates for the switchover of certain BMW models from the current inline 6-cylinder to the new twinpower turbo I4 motor, as well as the end of production of the current 3-series, M3 and 1-series.

Forced induction is everywhere it seems. From BMWs standpoint, those turbos go a long way to reducing fuel consumption while keeping the power right where we want it, so its a no brainer for them. The folks at Autogespot were lucky enough to have some exclusive time recently with the M3 GTS at BMW facilities in the Netherlands and they have shared these great photos of the highest performing factory M3 currently.

Here are some great updated photos of the special M3 Frozen Edition for the South African market, which features a power increase over the standard M3, matte black paintwork matched to red brake callipers, black leather with red stitching, and gloss black 19″ alloy wheels.
M-power.com chronicles Tommy Milner’s (M3 GT2 driver) visit to BMW M headquarters in Garching, Germany where he checks out the M3 GTS and 1M Coupe for the first time in person. And although he doesn’t get a ride in the 1M, we are shown a new photo of the 1M coupe in alpine white.
This will go down as the first officially released photo of the 1M in Alpine White. I’m sure there are more to come, but for now its just this single, but the 1M does sit confidently next to the hardcore BMW M3 GTS in the M family.

Michelin has just released its all new Pilot Supersport tires, which is said to be the successor for the Pilot Sport 2 tires. BMW M and the M3 have been explicitly mentioned in the press release so it appears likely that M cars and the M3 will soon come equipped from the factory with Pilot Supersports.
Turner Motorsports provides an update on their new Rolex GT M3 build for next season’s Grand-Am series, which will replace their M6. Here, they discuss the widebody full carbon fiber bodywork and dealing with the heat generated from the engine compartment.

Famous Nurburgring Taxi pilot Sabine Schmitz gives her initial feedback after testing the Frozen Black M3 edition on the Zwartkops racetrack in CAR’s 2011 Performance Shootout, which will feature 12 hot cars. Of the M3, Sabine calls it “bloody fast,” “unbelievable,” and “my favorite.”
