Sunglass giant Oakley held an Mfest meet at its headquarters this past Saturday. Mfesters showed up in good numbers and there were lots of M machinery (and plenty of non M cars) for everyone to ogle. Check out some event photos inside.
File this under “What if?” What if you had 130,000 EUR to spend on and were looking for a car? Two cars to consider would be the M3 GTS and the just-unveiled C63 AMG Black Series Coupe. 4.4l vs 6.2l V8, 450hp vs 517hp, 1605kg vs (est) 1710kg. Unlike the M3 GTS, the C63 AMG Black Series Coupe will be available in the US starting Spring 2012.
We’ve included a photo comparison, a spec comparison and two videos showing both cars’ engine sounds below. So you tell us, who’s the king?
Video compilation of M Club China’s large meet in Shanghai. But a meet & greet was not the only activity. The club also joined the 2011 SIC Club Challenge at the Shanghai F1 circuit! Lots of automotive eye candy inside, including plenty of Ms and exotics.
Here is BMW’s official introduction video of the BMW M3 DTM Concept Car (official press release and info) which will make its appearance in race form for the first time during the 2012 DTM season next year.
The video shows scenes from last week’s unveiling at The Welt. It also traces BMW’s DTM roots - 11 successful years (which ended in 1992) during which BMW was champion 3 times, had 49 victories, and went to the podium over 150 times. Three models were in use, 635csi, 323i, and the M3.
As for performance, the 4.0L 480bhp V8 motor rockets the M3 DTM from 0-100km/h in 3 seconds. Top speed is 300km/h.
WSTO assembled this customized track-inspired M3 for a customer to serve the dual purpose of road and track warrior. The customer had a shopping list of parts which included both cosmetic and performance related enhancements, and the result is certainly eye catching.

- Custom painted front grilles in matching alpine white
- Side grilles and the inside of the mirror caps painted in MAG Blue

- KW V3 coilovers
- Challenge “V” weave front lip and mirror caps
- Voltex Type 1S wing

The Fire Orange color first debuted on the M3 GTS coupe as an exclusive color and is even now only available as a BMW Individual color order, which we’ve seen ordered on a E92 coupe and M3 coupe. This beautiful custom build by M3POST member lucky11308 is the first time we have seen a fire orange E90 M3 sedan, and we think it looks terrific!
Besides the custom fire orange color, this 2010 E90 M3 with DCT has the following modifications:
- Remus Sport Exhaust
- Vorsteiner Front Lip
- H&R Springs
- OEM M5 Alloy Wheels
- BMW Performance Seats
- Blacked Out Roof

The Houston M Club gathered over the weekend at Momentum BMW for a meet & greet, together with a chance to check out the Mini Coupe, X6M and X6 hybrid. And of course, also to check out each other’s M cars. Some photos from the gathering inside.
