M3POST member koop shares with us his journal from his BMW Individual M3 re-delivery at the PCD. From koop:
As some of you may remember, I was fortunate enough to take European Delivery of my Individual Azurite/Rust Brown E92 M3 in Munich last December. It was an awesome experience! (The original thread is here).
After a forever-taking 10-week wait, my M3 and I were finally reunited at the Performance Center in South Carolina last week. The experience was just as fantastic as Munich, but in an entirely different way. We were treated like VIPs from the moment we arrived at the airport until we drove off in our new M. If you can stand to wait a little longer for delivery and take a couple of … CONTINUED
It’s been a while since the last spotting of the F82 M4 Coupe, but it’s been worth the wait this sighting as the prototype has now lost some camouflage, revealing much more!
So, what revealing things do we see in this new sighting?
• Double slatted kidney grilles.
• LED headlights
• LED tail lights
• Sculpted double-bubble carbon fiber roof (a la M6 Coupe)
• Production side mirrors (but still under camouflage)
• Integrated trunk spoiler
• Deliciously wide rear stance
What about the F82 M4 mechanicals? If you recall, we recently reported on information gleamed from the M4 prototype’s registered VIN information (posted below).
The highlight is the 310kW (415 hp) S55 3.0L inline 6 engine listed [photos]. Consistent with the information we’ve been posting, this would have the next M3 and M4 … CONTINUED
A recent unfortunate crash of an E92 M3 coupe on the Nurburgring Nordschleife was caught in on-board video.
The modified M3 (eibach springs, akrapovic exhaust and brembo brakes) lost traction and went off track when negotiating. the Whipperman turn on the wet track.
The M3 was eventually fixed and sold, and the former M3 owner now carves the Ring in a BMW HP4.
Have a look at a Frozen Monte Carlo Blue E92 M3 and the world’s first Frozen Sakhir Orange E92 M3 coupe, both BMW Individual ordered colors.
Spotted by M3POST member M3 Piotr:
These two were special ordered by Pentagon Car Sales (US Military Sales in Germany). They come with Individual Frozen Paint, as well as the extended leather with body color stitching, all OEM shadowline trim (front grills, hood scoops, side gills, exhaust tips,) and OEM black GTS wheels. Additionally, the owner of Pentagon Car Sales David Baker went step further and “modded” these a little bit before they go out for sale. He added Akrapovic slip on with Carbon Black tips, and some goodies from IND. Some of you might jump to a conclusion that he … CONTINUED

BIMMERPOST sponsor Alekshop has started an interesting E92 M3 build, building a US spec M3 GTS based on the BMW M3 Lime Rock Edition, which shares the same Fire Orange color with the M3 GTS. Per Alekshop:
The day BMW announced a release of the special model M3 GTS, we knew that this is the car we have to have!
After reading multiple press releases, looking at million pictures, translating technical info from German to English we gathered enough information to come up with a plan to build a US Spec M3 GTS.
Being a limited production car that was not offered in United States, we knew it will be extremely difficult to obtain the original M3 GTS parts for our project. That was a roadblock for … CONTINUED

BMW M CEO Friedrich Nitschke gave some insight into certain aspects of future M models when speaking recently to Autocar.
AWD vs RWD
While current non-SUV M models all remain RWD, as horsepower numbers climb for each successive generation of models, the question has arisen whether future models would benefit from AWD xDrive offerings, to help with traction and getting all that power down to the ground effectively; especially considering the AWD offerings from competitors - such as the E63/CLS63 AMG 4Matic and upcoming RS6/RS7 Quattro models.
To this, Nitschke reaffirms M’s stance on RWD: “Our philosophy in regards to steering feel and precision is that rear-wheel drive is the best solution,” … “xDrive brings an 80-90kg weight penalty and the M differential is the industry’s best rear-drive … CONTINUED
