Today, the BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team began the 2010 American Le Mans season with a new livery on both BMW M3 racing cars, helping to tell BMW’s worldwide Story of Joy. The 2010 BMW M3 GT debuted at the traditional pre-season ALMS Winter Test in Sebring, Florida. The new livery features words and phrases emblematic of the spirit of the campaign, which was launched in North America on February 12th during coverage of the Opening Ceremony of the XXI Winter Olympic Games.
Manhart has announced its 3-stage supercharger tuning program for the BMW M3, good for up to 655 HP, 0-100km/hr in 3.7 seconds, and a top speed of 350km/h. Also detailed is Manhart’s tuning program for the X5M and X6M. Full details and photos inside.

Jon Sadlier, an editor at Edmunds, has written this little piece on why he considers the BMW M3 a bargain even at $60k. His reasons seem to have struck a chord with actual M3 owners on M3post. Indeed, it appears that Mr. Sadlier “gets” why M3 owners are so passionate of their cars.

C&D guesses at what the M3 will be like in 10 years. They believe that by 2020 BMW has gone direct injection and turbo crazy and that the 2020 M3 will feature a tuned up version of the turbocharged six cylinder engine used in other BMW models. Or, if the engineers are able to seriously lighten the M3, a sub-400hp turbo four cylinder could also be a possibility. So what’s your prediction?
