BMW held its BMW M Legendary Experience event in China last week, where they introduced another special M3 model for the Chinese market — the limited production BMW M3 Carbon Edition coupe. The M3 Carbon Edition is limited to just 111 units, at a cost of 1.23 million yuan (approximately $189,000 USD), and goes on sale in July. It joins the M3 Matte Edition and M3 Tiger Edition as Chinese-market only M3 editions.
The M3 Carbon Edition features, you guessed it, a focus on carbon fiber. All 111 units features carbon fiber roofs, BMW Performance front lip splitters, trunk spoiler, and hood inlet surrounds. The recently unveiled G-Power M3 GTS shows off a bit in these videos from its testing runs at Hockenheim. This super-GTS would go on to set a laptime at the Hockenheim track of 1.11,8 min. The G-Power M3 GTS features:

G-POWER SK II “Sporty Drive” supercharger system
G-POWER has released its M3 GTS with SK II “Sporty Drive” supercharger system, billed as the world’s most powerful BMW M3 GTS to date. A version of the G-POWER M3 “Sporty Drive” supercharger system, adapted specifically for the BMW M3 GTS raises the standard output from 450 hp to 635 hp and 630 Nm of torque. The high-revving V8 power unit from M GmbH, with a 10% greater displacement of 4.4 l, has proven itself as the ideal starting point for the forced induction technology practiced by G-POWER with ASA superchargers. Martino Auto Concepts and Active Autowerke have teamed up to produce two custom M3s. The first has been completed and it’s a stunner! Featuring an eye catching Lamborghini Verde Ithaca Pearl Green paint, the first of the two M3s features plenty of both “go” and “show.”
The power comes from AA’s E9X M3 Stage II supercharger kit with methanol injection kit, full exhaust system, and custom tune. Suspension and brakes are now a KW V3 coilover system and a StopTech Trophy Big Brake Kit in matching Vede Ithaca Green. An E91 M3 Touring was never in the cards for this generation of M3s, but that hasn’t stopped wagon fans from undertaking their own custom conversions. We previously featured an M3POST member’s full E91 M3 custom build (both mechanicals and bodywork), but here’s yet another one.
This build only features cosmetics (save for the quad exhaust), but it’s an impressive build nevertheless. The exterior has custom built in the M3 style. But it doesn’t end there. The exterior also features a matte “frozen” black finish, much like the special edition M3s.
The first three G-power M3 GTS have arrived and their engine displacements have been bored to an increase of 10% and rebuilt with low-compression forged pistons. This extra displacement, combined with a specially tuned version of their SK II CS supercharger system, has resulted in 720hp! This represents an increase of 270hp over the factory M3 GTS (450hp). How much faster this catapults the car from the factory figures (4.4 sec 0-100km/h and 305km/h) is not yet known, but will surely be announced in due time.
This is a must action video of the monstrous 700+hp Manhart V8RS 4.4L M3 with the engine transplant from X6M! It’s in German, but when you have sights and sounds like this, words are barely necessary. Just look at the driver’s reaction and you can imagine the fury of this car.
