The Rimac e-M3 has now been acknowledged as the fastest accelerating electrical vehicle (EV). Its record breaking run, which happened in April 2011, has now been confirmed and acknowledged by the FIA. The electric E30 M3 covered the first eighth of a mile in 7.549 seconds and the quarter mile in 11.808 seconds).
A full mile was completed in 35.347, which is still pending the FIA nod. The driver (and owner of the Rimac tuning company) Mate Rimac is already working on something even faster - the new pre-production Concept_One.
We haven’t spotted the F82 M4 Coupe at the Nurburgring since July, when the F82 was spied for the very first time in public testing. Well, it’s now back at the Ring during an onslaught of BMW prototype testing in the past week, including the F80 M3, F82 M4, F36 4 Series Gran Coupe, F15 X5 M, 3 Series GT, and the M6 Gran Coupe.

The M3 Coupe Lime Rock Park edition is limited in production to 200 units with production beginning earlier this month (at rate of 25 units per week). BMW gives new meaning to the term ‘going airborn’ by setting up the Jeff Koons designed BMW M3 GT2 Art Car for its latest photo shoot.
Last week, the company put the BMW M3 Art Car on top of Pulpit Rock in Norway – 604 metres above the ground for its latest cameo. The crew waited two days for good weather to finally drop the M3 GT2 atop the famous rock.
