GSR Autosport gives us the skinny on their Global Time Attack M4 prior to SEMA. The GSR Autosport Global Time Attack project car is being developed to run in the 2015 GTA Pro Am Series in Street Class. The overall concept is sort of a Jekyll & Hyde thing where certain parts will be able to be swapped back and forth – between track duty and street duty – parts such as the front splitter, rear decklid/wing, roll bar, seats, wheels/tires, etc.

Using MotoGP M4 Safety Cars as a basis (or as decoys), we see a large front spoiler lip and high trunk wing on the prototype. These parts are different than the M Performance front lip and trunk spoiler featured on the MotoGP M4 Safety Car and instead resemble the protuding front spoiler lip and elevated trunk wing from the E92 M3 GTS.

Hamann has released images of its aero kit for the F82 M4, which includes:
- Front lip spoiler
- Rear diffuser
- High trunk wing
The theme is carbon fiber as each of these parts features the material. No details yet as to any engine performance or handling upgrades, but those will surely be forthcoming.

BMW has issued a service action for BMW F82 M4 coupes produced from March 2014 to July 2014 for a missing CAN Terminating Resistor. The missing resistor creates various issues and after the fix, DCT performs better and the exhaust is louder, as reported by 2 owners. There is no relevant SIB for F80. Looks like M3 sedans are unaffected.

BIMMERPOST member MGWally shares with us his most impressive result from running his F80 M3 in the quarter mile drag strip at Atco Raceway.
His 2015 M3 turned in a 11.66 sec @ 119.24 mph run. The car is stock, DCT and was running with 103 octane gasoline.
